pretty great

Figo has been so good to me and my dog. My dog got VERY sick earlier this year and had many thousands of dollars or vet bills and Figo reimbursed without hesitation. Filing a claim is easy as can be. Claim time was at 3-4 weeks, but the last few claims I filed were approved in less than 24 hours. Awesome. My only two complaints are that my premium is doubling after the first year. Also, when I used email for customer service it was very ineffective. But their text customer service line is great. So happy with Figo

With my dog needing TPLO surgery, FIGO has been filling the claims pretty quickly....one within a couple hours of submission. Been recommending FIGO to any new dog owner I see on the street when walking my dog.

Pretty good... Not great

I got Figo a year ago for my mixed breed dog to cover accidents and any illnesses that might come up. The premium for the essentials insurance was a solid deal and felt that you couldn't go wrong. I ended up having to hospitalize my dog and have treatment done in November. After filing the claim, I found out that they were experiencing significant delays in processing claims. After about six weeks, I was reimbursed (80%, minus deductible). I planned to let the policy run through its end date and start searching around and comparing rates and plans. Turns out that Figo auto-renewed the policy using an old credit card—but my policy had more than doubled in cost. There's no way to turn off auto-renew in your online profile. Come on, Figo, if you're going to make a large charge on peoples' cards, at least give them advance notice.

Good luck getting anything covered with their convoluted, long claims process.

After much research, we chose Figo as our insurance company. They state that any acute condition that has been successfully treated and resolved is coverable under their policy. Our dog has had some stomach problems - he occasionally had had Gastroenteritis (an acute, curable condition). Shortly after we obtained the policy, he had an episode if Gastroenteritis with loose stools and stomach tenderness. Our claims were left to languish for weeks. Only when I called to inquire, did they inform me that they needed more medical documentation from a previous vet. The documents had been in my pet cloud the whole time, but had been "overlooked". Repeat cycle, with them asking for more documentation from current vet three times, but not being specific enough so I could actually submit what they needed to get my claim processed and no communication until I called to ask why the claim wasn't being paid. Finally, after 3 cycles of this, I was informed that stomach issues would never be covered because his sporadic acute Gastroenteritis was a "pre-existing condition". All of the employees I talked to were pleasant a d helpful, but the claims process and denial of anything that your pet has ever had an issue with makes it worthless fir all but young pets. I have also been hearing about outrageous price increases at policy renewal. Garbage coverage.
