fetch has to have some of the worst customer service out of any company i’ve ever used. i’ve been using them for over 3 years now and everytime there’s a question or anything it is the worst customer service experience.
Does this company want to provide affordable insurance or sell a bunch of other stuff?
I bought my policy when my dog was a new puppy and the company was called Petplan. The initial monthly premium was reasonable and affordable. I am glad that I had insurance because my dog ended up having significant problems with skin allergies and his liver. Accordingly, my premiums have increased (currently $177 per month). Last week, I was notified that the monthly premium will be $324 (almost $4000 per year) to insure my dog for no more than $15,000 per year (70% reimbursement, $500 deductible).
How am I supposed to afford the medical bills when the insurance costs $4000? It was time to look for a different solution. Changing insurance companies means that I cannot get reimbursed for pre-existing problems, but we have the allergies and liver under control. I want coverage for things like major accidents and perhaps cancer, now that my dog is over 6 years old. I did quite a bit of reading and found companies that will provide unlimited coverage for him ($1000 deductible, 70% reimbursement) for $80 monthly.
It is time to say goodbye to Fetch. My interactions with the company have been good and bad. The direction the company is taking is one that does not interest me. I don't need a pharmacy, training, treats, etc. I need coverage for my dog in the event of a disaster (hit by a car, cancer). Fetch does not seem to write policies with unlimited coverage. Quite a few other companies do. Consider whether you want to pay for all these things that are not insurance or whether you want someone to back you when the unthinkable happens--and to back you with unlimited coverage that does not demand an astronomic premium.
