⭐ 1-Star Review – Don’t Trust Fetch Pet Insurance
I’ve had my dog on a Fetch Pet Insurance plan from the very beginning, faithfully paying them for years with the belief that they cared about her well-being. Unfortunately, that couldn’t be further from the truth.
When I moved, they raised my premium—not because of anything I did, but because my new zip code had a higher rate of claims. Then, as my dog got older (as all pets do), they raised it again because she was now “higher risk.” So apparently, if your dog ages or you change your address, Fetch sees it as an opportunity to charge you more.
The final straw? When I finally used the insurance for a large vet bill—which is the whole reason to have it—they hit me with yet another increase, over 50%. After years of paying into this policy, they punished me for actually using it.
Fetch talks a big game about caring for pets, but their business model shows otherwise. They’ll take your money, hike your rates, and offer little in return when you actually need support. It's not about pet care—it's about profit.
Do yourself a favor: skip Fetch entirely and set up a savings account for vet expenses. At least then you’ll know your money is truly for your pet—not padding the bottom line of a company that doesn’t care.
Avoid Fetch Pet Insurance at all costs.
Update: I called to lower my monthly cost, and they refused to give me a quote in writing. Instead, they told me I had to write everything down myself—but that the new offer would be good for 24 hours.
I discussed the proposed price with my husband—maybe 15 minutes max—and by the time I called back, they had already closed. I figured it was fine since I was still well within the 24-hour window. I called the next day, but unsurprisingly, the price had gone up.
Granted, it was only a $6 increase, but it’s the principle. You told me the quote would hold for 24 hours, and then you went back on it. This is exactly why they avoid putting anything in writing—so they can shift the terms on you whenever they want.
Yes, I get that prices change—but in under 12 hours? Come on. It’s completely unfair and honestly feels deceptive. Worst experience. I hate that I’m stuck with them just to protect my dog. Never again.
