Fetch is a scam
Fetch is a scam. They continued to charge us after we cancelled. We cancelled because the rate skyrocketed to over $2500 and the policy pays a maximum of $400 per illness. So it would be impossible to recover the premium unless my pet had 7 unrelated illnesses in one year. Absurd. We changed our credit card number to stop them from continuing to charge us and they somehow found the new number and kept charging us. We disputed the charges with our credit card company and they didn’t challenge our dispute until two years later, when they suddenly charged us for three years’ worth of insurance premiums totaling over $8k. The company changed hands (from petplan to fetch) and they claim not to have saved the recorded call during which I cancelled in 2020. So the credit card company took their side (they did not give us written confirmation of the cancellation-it was only on the call which I did not record myself) and in 2022 they made us pay $5000 for policies that were supposedly in effect for 2020 and 2021. You have 90 days to submit a claim, so there’s no way we could have derived a single penny’s worth of benefit from those premiums. Pure scam.
Yes, I spoke with customer service. In answer to my question about why I would get charged $8000 in a single year to insure one cat, the rep said, “If we are able to charge you, we will.” I think that pretty much sums up the company.
