Embrace | Pet Insurance Review

The process for filing seemed easy enough. The security of knowing that there is insurance for emergent situations is comforting as well.

Been over a month on my first claim and it still says “pending”. I called and was pretty much told that it’s still being reviewed. I have submitted everything that was requested, even when I first signed up and still no answers. My other pet is insured by Nationwide and I’ve never waited longer than 3 days most claims are paid within 24 hours. Will change my review if/when claim is completed or a better answer is given.

We are long term customers. We always have Embrace Insurance on our Great Danes, just in case something awful happens. Vet medicine is usually more expensive the larger the pet, so for us it just makes sense. Fast and easy claims process.

Impossible for elderly to remember how to drag invoice. I got a pop up saying don't accept my type of picture when you clearly do. How about a link telling people in understandable language how to work the damn website. Available are barely understandable, I gave up.

We submitted several claims for our cat when she suddenly got sick, and they were all processed within 2 weeks with everything covered as expected. These were big bills too, so I expected them to have questions or get nitpicky about the coverage or push back on something, but I didn't get any of that. I submitted the invoice to their portal and said what it was for, and then 2 weeks later they said it was approved and they sent the money through direct deposit. We did get like 3 "inpatient exam fee" charges from the vet hospital during an overnight stay, which I didn't quite understand. I had opted out of coverage for exam fees to lower the deductible, so that was a bit annoying, but I couldn't be mad since it was my choice. More something to look out for than a true complaint. My only real complaint is that last year when our plan renewed in December, our deductible basically doubled, and they didn't offer any real explanation as to why that happened. I did hear some rumblings in the news about the pet insurance market being inflated but I didn't receive anything official from them on that. Overall though I am super glad we had insurance, even with the highest deductible, fewest optional coverages and lowest coinsurance rate we paid around 1/3 what we would have without it. And they even sent a nice condolences message when our cat passed, which was kind of them.
