Proceed with caution...
Seven years of being a customer with four dogs at one point. I only have two on the policy now, but since they were born. Out of the blue this year for no cause (and I have not used hardly any of the benefit in 7 years) Embrace raised my rate $116 a month, bringing my total to $3880 a year... Ridiculous! They can't explain why, just says it is that now. They've got you by the shorts at 7 years into a policy, given the average life expectancy of a dog. It's nearly impossible to find a more affordable insurance provider on a dog at this point in their life cycle. There are sure to be "pre-existing" conditions if trying for a new policy, which will jack up your rates. Everything was good with Embrace until this point, but when they know they have you and you are most vulnerable, they grossly increase your rates. This is a terrible business practice and a kick in the teeth, so if you're shopping for pet insurance, be warned!
