I adopted a puppy from the local Humane Society and looked into getting some pet insurance for her after we had a few minor puppy incidents. When I initially signed up, they hit us with a pre-existing condition of a heart murmur (even though it was on ONE vet note and it was when she was severely dehydrated) and several temporary conditions, which if they are seen again in 12 months, will be considered pre-existing. So, this was everything all puppies go through: parasites, diarrhea, vomiting, vaginitis, etc. Now, if our PUPPY gets one of these illnesses in the next 12 months, they won't cover anything related to those. In addition, I have since submitted three claims and had to follow-up on each claim because I either did not agree, or they claimed to not get the information from my vet. When I contested that the heart murmur was a pre-existing condition, they never got back to me until I followed up over a month later over the phone.
I will be fair and say the few positives I have had are that customer service has been friendly and helpful and that submitting the claim is easy if you do it via email yourself. However, if you are paying a monthly fee and getting nothing covered, this is not nearly enough for me to stay with a company.

Finally a company that does what it pomises
Our 9 year old Chocolate Lab has been diagnosed with Mass Cell Tumors. Just hearing about a cancer tumor turns your life upside down. But to hear it 3 times in 5 months is even more troubling. Then you try to figure out how you are ever going to be able to give you kid the treatment she needs. Thanks to Embrace we were able to have all the surgeries done. Our girl is doing great. Thanks Again Embrace

Good Final Outcome for a Tough Situation
Our 3 1/2 yr old Savannah cat that we adopted earlier this year went to the vet for his annual checkup and they noticed a heart murmur. A specialty vet visit plus an ultrasound later he was diagnosed with HOCM. Not Good, but he was otherwise healthy. Initial claim to Embrace was denied due to several noted conditions (elevated heart rate and breathing) present when he was taken to his previous owner's vet last year due to a fever (no heart murmur though). After getting the specialist and the original vet to confirm in written form that no heart murmur was previously present and none of those other symptoms were related to HOCM, Embrace reconsidered their finding and reversed it. So, while I thought Embrace made a mistake in their original findings, they are willing to reconsider it when additional evidence is presented, so I give them credit for that. I am happy that his condition is now covered.

Embrace is Awesome
My lab ended up having skin allergies and needs weekly allergy shots. As a result, the cost of skin tests, vet visits, and related medications added up quickly. Embrace handled and settled the claims very efficiently and my reimbursement checks arrived at my residence in a timely manner. Very satisfied!
