Grateful
We have had wonderful experiences with Embrace! We have had a policy since our Papillon was 10 weeks old. Our Papillon, Gabriel, is now almost 7 years old. Just recently we had a huge scare with Gabriel vomiting, diarrhea, lethargic and not able to eat or drink without vomiting. With a visit to the Vet and some initial bloodwork it appeared that Gabriel may have contracted Leptospirosis and was in the early stages of liver and kidney failure! We were in disbelief and shock that we could lose our most beloved dog when symptoms just appeared so quickly and without warning. Because Leptospirosis is contagious to humans we were not allowed to hold him or touch him which was so difficult and painful, seeing the look in his eyes with the fear of sickness and not being able to touch him and just having to leave him behind. After a few days they allowed us to wear protective gear and sit on the floor with Gabriel and pat him, I swear the human touch is so important to healing. We were told he would have to remain in the hospital until he improved or even worse, til death. The Vet was very upfront and said "this will be costly" but we knew that with the assurance of our pet insurance policy with Embrace we had the comfort of knowing we could at least give him a chance at life and not have to worry about the high financial impact that hospitalization can add up too. And we had the reassurance to give our Gabriel a chance for recovery and not subjected to having to euthanize without a fighting chance. The good news is Gabriel did not have Leptospirosis and his body reacted quickly to the medical treatments and antibiotics and after six days we were able to bring him home and love him and hold him. The good news is he is healthy now, back to his "normal" self and we are so GRATEFUL to Embrace Pet Insurance to give us the ability to have our dog cared for without the fear of the financial burden. Gabriel needs a follow up in a month to make sure his liver and kidneys are stabilized but otherwise we are positive he has made a full recovery!! Thank you Embrace!
