Despite some small pitfalls, overall an excellent policy.

Costs related to chronic feline renal insufficiency can be exceedingly expensive, especially during the later stages of the illness. Despite my belief that prescription renal food (and other prescription diets) should actually be covered for illness (and not considered only for wellness claims), Embrace has quickly processed my other related reimbursements in a professional manner. I am thankful that my pet, in the late stages of this horrific disease, can be cared for by my veterinarian, without a huge financial toll.

So, so very thankful I bought this policy

We have had multiple issues with our 2 1/2 yr old Hank, ranging from TPLO surgery for torn ACL/CCL to choking because of ingesting unknown substance to allergic reaction to plate from TPLO (causing multilple infections) and then plate removal. These ranged in cost from over $4000 (TPLO), $1500 (plate removal) to several hundred for various xray, etc. All these occurred in less than 10 months. I have NOT waited more than 2 weeks for ANY re-imbursement. And all have been fully what I calculated. I can only guess for those not having the same results that perhaps their vet did not complete all the paperwork properly. Once our vet filled out initial paperwork, following claims were so simple to complete. I could not be happier with Embrace. I am SO thankful we took out the policy when our dogs were healthy!

Embrace is good

Embrace (so far) has been great! We got insurance when our girl was just a puppy and never really used it until recently when she tore her ACL! I ended up meeting my deductible because of all her care prior to the actual surgery. So the cost of the surgery on my end when everything was said and done was roughly $500! Every time I call, I get a representative almost immediately and I’m never transferred around. I get the answer to my questions from whomever I’m speaking to. All their staff are clearly well trained and have plenty of knowledge about the insurance itself. My payments only went up $20 after her surgery which was awesome because I thought I’d be paying WAY more since they basically paid her whole surgery. If you’re not one to sit on the phone, you can do everything online. It’s super easy and literally explains everything! From claims to coverage to payments! I can honestly say getting pet insurance was the best decision I’ve ever made and when we get another puppy next summer I will be getting her, her own insurance as well! The only downside and this is with all insurance is that whatever happens CAN NOT be a pre-existing condition. When I first sent in the pre qualification claim for her ACL surgery they wanted e v e r y t h i n g to make sure it didn’t happen before we had got the insurance. Get it when they’re young or you’ll be kicking yourself when it’s too late! The claim for her surgery did take a little extra time but that’s because embrace paid the hospital directly - so I can’t really blame them since there was quite a bit of papers to fill out and it was amazing to not have to dish out that cash and have to wait to be paid back! Just another great thing they do direct pay if the vet will agree to it!

Thankful for the Coverage

The claim was easy to complete and submit and I recieved quick payment as reimbursement. I am thankful that FORLs are covered since I know sometimes dental issues can be a different story. I do wish that MORE of the expenses had been covered but I guess every little bit helps.
