Buyer Beware
I took my 1 year old Labrador retriever to the vet for a urinary tract infection. During the exam our vet happened to examine her ears and noticed that she also had an ear infection which the vet explained was most likely due to her swimming.
I submitted the claim from that visit and Embrace denied the costs associated with the ear infection with the excuse that because our dog had at a wellness visit been noted to have a tiny bald spot on top of her head (which the vet at the time said was most likely due to trauma from brushing into something) The diagnosis of alopecia was put into her record. Embrace now says that she had a preexisting dermatology condition so the ear infection is not covered! There is no connection between her transient bald spot that totally went away and never came back and an ear infection acquired from swimming! In addition, they categorized the antibiotics for the UTI as a “wellness” expense and said we had used up our wellness benefits so did not cover the antibiotic.
This is an insurance company looking for any excuse not to pay.
We have met our $750 deductible in addition to paying $650 in premiums.
I will not be renewing this contract if that is how this company operates!

Great experience!
My experiences with Embrace have always been great, and this past time was no different. Embrace makes it easy to submit a claim through the app by simply taking a picture of the vet paperwork and uploading it. The response time is fast, and reimbursement occurs in a timely manner as well.

Grateful for Embrace
After our first claim, things have gone smoothly and quickly. I've been able to upload our invoices from our recent emergency visits and just submit without having to do anything further. It is a relief to be at the vet and know that I can do what is needed in the moment with the insurance to back me up.
Monthly Cost
$13 – $100, depending on your chosen plan.
Coverage
You have a co-pay of 10%, 20% or 30% after your deductible, depending on your chosen plan.
The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.
Payout Limits
Annual limit of $2000, $5000, $10,000 or $15,000.
Deductible
Annual deductible options from $100 – $1,000.
Age Limits
Pet must be at least 6 weeks old to enroll.
New pets over 14 are eligible for accident-only coverage.
Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
There is a two-week illness waiting period, which begins on your policies’ effective date. Orthopedic conditions have additional Waiting or exclusion periods that vary by state.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered.
Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered if they have not been diagnosed or suspected before the policy becomes active.
Main plan covers alternative treatments such as chiropractic, acupuncture and homeopathic when provided by a licensed veterinarian.
Optional wellness and prescription drug plans are available for an additional cost.
