Have helped us through a hard time

Embrace has made it so easy to file a claim on their website. They have helped my doggy, Zella, and I get through a tough time with her health. I definitely recommend them.

I have a multi-pet household and policy…

I have a multi-pet household and policy for their health needs. A young adopted feral kitty mother (she adopted us) and her three now grown kittens born at home. All had perfect health until this year when our 2 1/2 year old grown kitten developed pancreatitis. Urgent care, emergency hospital, regular vet hospitalization; Embrace was there for all of it. Kitten now recovered and doing well. I Thank Embrace every day for that.

Note your dog's weight at policy setup!!

MAKE SURE THEY HAVE YOUR DOG'S EXACT WEIGHT WHEN YOU SET UP YOUR POLICY. Here's the deal: I'm mostly very pleased with my Embrace insurance policy. They have covered everything I've needed them to and I am grateful to have this policy so I can spring for higher quality healthcare for my dog. However, I found out recently that for the past two years that I've been overcharged (by about 2x) because I noted at the start of the policy that my dog is a "mixed breed" (which he is!). I did not see that on the scroll-down menu, they also list "mixed breed" at various weights, and if you don't select one of those options, they'll just charge you as if your dog is medium-sized. MY DOG IS 12 LBS. I called and got this fixed, and while they're going to re-adjust my policy for the following years, I do not get any sort of rebate or even an apology for the fact that they've been essentially fleecing me. As a first-time dog owner, I had no idea that the entire price of the policy hinged on me selecting the right thing from that drop-down menu (because his exact weight is on his medical records, which Embrace has!!). DO NOT make the same mistake I did! Make sure Embrace has the correct weight for your dog and call to confirm if necessary. Embrace, I do not know WHY you would allow people to setup a policy without inputing an exact weight, if weight is a primary tool for you in calculating the premium. I recommend changing this to avoid folks feeling confused or ripped off.

I have been severely let down

I have been severely let down by Embrace. My pet became ill suddenly to the point that she did not recover and had go subsequently be euthanized. Subsequently and Embrace Insurance has refused to cover our claim due to a notation of us as the owner giving our pet a supplement to help with UTIs in her health record before we started coverage. Embrace has took it upon themselves to not take the advice of the veterinarian that it was for a prophylactic treatment for a proneness to UTI, And instead stated that it was a history of kidney failure/ kidney disease that we were claiming for. So with the life-saving treatment that we attempted to do. To save our girl, we expected that our insurance would cover any treatments We had to perform as we had not had a diagnosis before, we started insurance with Embrace. We are now attempting our second appeal, however even with multiple vet recommendations that she had UTIs and not kidney failure, which is what the supplements were for, there is a chance that Embrace will be more likely to deny the claim than to accept the word of two different veterinarians.
