Poor customer experience
My policy was missing an endorsement that would have allowed me to get reimbursed for getting blood and lab work done. So when I went to file a claim it was denied and I was advised I needed to add this endorsement for it to be covered. This endorsement doubled the monthly cost of my policy, which made me a little sour on maintaining Embrace as my insurance carrier.
However, the reason for the 1 star review is for a recent phone call I had. Due to the price increase I shopped around and I decided to cancel my policy, and the cancelation experience was quite poor. After a 15 minute que time calling in (since you have to call in to cancel) the CSR was very clearly uninterested to assist me answering the phone. Then when I advised I was switching policies the tone shifted dramatically and they asked "Please tell me it is not Lemonade?!?" in frustration. I stated it was indeed Lemonade. They then aggressively advised "Don't do Lemonade they suck! Their coverages are worse than ours! Switching to them is just throwing money away!" I responded with I appreciate the concern but I have already started the policy, I just want to cancel this one. They then quickly processed my cancelation advised me of my refund and hung up on me. I understand the attempt to save my business, but this just wasn't the way to do it. Simply bashing the company I'm switching too and not inquiring as to why I wanted to switch and creating value for me to stay at Embrace, just immediately put a bad taste in my mouth. The CSR's attempt, though directed at Lemonade, felt more like they were attacking and questioning my due diligence, which of course all but cemented my decision to leave. I see Embrace has many high rated reviews on here, but I hope that if they want to maintain that reputation they continue to develop their phone CSR's and maybe someone else doesn't share in my experience.

Definitely a great pet insurance
Our experience with embrace pet insurance has been nothing but positive! Customer service is great fast and efficient, turn around time for reimbursement is quite quick and the entire plan just makes life so much easier when you have pets.

Not the message I wanted......
The way Amy handled the situation with me. I called to cancel my membership because I was disappointed in the coverage of the Wellness Program. Claims for our two golden doodle puppies maximized the $650 each during the 4 month membership. Amy reminded me of the disclaimer I agreed to when signing up in April. It was not what I wanted to hear but she was extremely professional and understanding. She offered me an option to reduce the premium while I continue the commitment to fund the Wellness Program through the remaining 8 months.
Monthly Cost
$13 – $100, depending on your chosen plan.
Coverage
You have a co-pay of 10%, 20% or 30% after your deductible, depending on your chosen plan.
The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.
Payout Limits
Annual limit of $2000, $5000, $10,000 or $15,000.
Deductible
Annual deductible options from $100 – $1,000.
Age Limits
Pet must be at least 6 weeks old to enroll.
New pets over 14 are eligible for accident-only coverage.
Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
There is a two-week illness waiting period, which begins on your policies’ effective date. Orthopedic conditions have additional Waiting or exclusion periods that vary by state.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered.
Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered if they have not been diagnosed or suspected before the policy becomes active.
Main plan covers alternative treatments such as chiropractic, acupuncture and homeopathic when provided by a licensed veterinarian.
Optional wellness and prescription drug plans are available for an additional cost.
