Ease of Submitting a claim on line.

I submitted my first claim on-line today. Now, let us wait for result. Further review will follow after results. I still must submit two more related claims. The process to submit the first claim was very easy.

Insurance coverage and claim processing

The Embrace Insurance Company has been amazing regarding coverage of our dog's visits and treatments. The process to file a claim could not be easier. The instructions to do so are very user friendly, very clear. Claim refunds (for lack of a better word) are very efficient and quick. It gives us great peace of mind knowing that Sofia's care is covered. It enables us to provide to her the best possible care to keep her healthy for what we hope will be a long, happy life!!! This review is applicable to visit/treatment dates beginning 05/08/24 through 09/23/24

Room for improvement

It is relatively easy to submit a claim, however it is difficult to submit more than 1 invoice. I needed to take my dog for a re-check the next day and there is no way to submit a second invoice for the same claim. Also, I was very disappointed that what seemed like a very clear diagnosis of poisoning, was initially denied by claims under my accidental policy. I had to quote policy definitions and submit additional doctor notes in order to have my claim paid. On the positive side, the reimbursement of funds was very quick once the claim was covered.

Monthly Cost

$13 – $100, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

You have a co-pay of 10%, 20% or 30% after your deductible, depending on your chosen plan. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $2000, $5000, $10,000 or $15,000.

Deductible

Annual deductible options from $100 – $1,000.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 6 weeks old to enroll. New pets over 14 are eligible for accident-only coverage. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

There is a two-week illness waiting period, which begins on your policies’ effective date. Orthopedic conditions have additional Waiting or exclusion periods that vary by state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered if they have not been diagnosed or suspected before the policy becomes active. Main plan covers alternative treatments such as chiropractic, acupuncture and homeopathic when provided by a licensed veterinarian. Optional wellness and prescription drug plans are available for an additional cost.
