I will never use any pet insurance provider other than ASPCA. Period.
Last year, we had a young GSD pup named Goose who came down with a bizarre virus that ended up taking his life. Long story short, what we initially thought was an obstruction in his stomach, turned out to be a virus that spread from his GI tract to his lungs and after more than a week of ER care, the vets believed there was nothing else they could do - we had to put him down. While the decision was incredibly hard, ASPCA made it possible for us to pursue a cure to the very end and have peace of mind, after his passing, that we did everything we possibly could have to save his life. ASPCA's staff stayed in constant contact with me, offered words of encouragement, and always made it clear what they would need to process the near $15,000 dollars worth of claims we ended up filing. Once the claim was processed, we received our reimbursement shortly thereafter. It was a very tough time for myself and my fiancee and we will forever be appreciative of the way ASPCA and the ER veterinarians treated us.
P.S. That was about a year ago to to the date and, recently, we welcomed a new shepherd into our home. After our experience with Goose, we knew exactly who we would be calling to insure our new pup. Our experience with ASPCA has made us life-long customers and as our friends start to adopt dogs of their own, we only have one recommendation to give. Thank you all so much!
