Filed a claim on 8-6-20 still waiting…

Filed a claim on 8-6-20 still waiting for claim to be approved. Called company left a voicemail to be called back and never heard back from them. Called today on 9-29-20 and have been on hold for 45 minutes and no one has picked up. They take my payment every month and I always pay on time and they have no problem in taking my money. I have always believed in the ASPCA and have supported them and now I would not ever refer them or donate to them again. Going to look for a new pet health insurance company.

Very disappointed

After MUCH research I signed up for this pet insurance almost a year ago. As a single mom the price was affordable and I liked the idea of fast reimbursements (which was advertised on their website). I am very disappointed with the handling of claims. I sent an email, which have yet to get a response. I tried to call several times with no luck. I finally talked to someone that wasn't the nicest of people. She then told me that my claim might not be covered and that it will take almost 8 weeks for reimbursements, if any. Not covered? What? 8 weeks? Why? I had to scramble to come up with the money for my dog's emergency surgery, then to talk to someone that is not sympathetic or just didn't care really made me think of the false advertisements on their site. This is not what I wanted to hear or expected from this company.

ASPCA doesn’t feel like holding their end up

I cannot BELIEVE how my sick cat and have been treated by ASPCA! Beware! After being a faithful customer for eight years, with the Cadillac of plans for her, ASPCA has quietly written a clause into her policy stating that her ongoing problems would now only be covered with the additional Continuing Care; they obviously didn’t reach out to inform me of this specification. She was diagnosed with bladder cancer in February of 2020; so less than a year. The vet also insists that it is NOT a preexisting condition. But ASPCA refuses to help me, labeling this as a preexisting condition. Utterly ridiculous. I will never recommend them to anyone and now my cat’s life will be cut short. They say how much they care about animals. They obviously don’t. They care about their dollars much more. I’m obviously a bit distraught right now. Ugh. This sucks.

Pet Insurance is a Life Saver

I enrolled my cat in ASPCA pet insurance when she was about 1.5 years old. Besides a little bout with vomiting, I didn’t have to use the insurance much. She was pretty healthy. But a few months later, she started to develop some dermatitis around her nose and mouth. Her symptoms became worse, runny eyes and nose, too. Her doctor suspected either a chronic URI or allergies. Her URI panel came back negative. So we began the frustrating journey of trying to get her allergies under control. She was started on a food trial with a novel protein and immunotherapy after her allergy panel came back. She is doing so much better and her allergies are being controlled well. If it wasn’t for ASPCA covering 90% of her vet bills, I’m not sure I would have been able to get to the bottom of her health issues and she would still be struggling. Thank you, ASPCA! You’ve been very helpful!
