Best reason to have insurance for your pet
Following my first Lab's untimely rainbow bridge crossing from bone cancer almost 20 years ago, I got health insurance for my next lab, with another company. He eventually passed at the Lab-ripe age of 18 from histiosarcoma. After 13 years dealing with that agency, coverage was denied based on fine print written in several 5-point size disclaimers allowing the company to interpret anything they wanted. Needless to say, I will never, ever, deal with these folks again.
Enter ASPCA Health Insurance. I initially went in with trepidation but my vets were enthusiastic about them. I've been with them now for seven years and it has been superb. My dog was a rescue who had been abused and neglected so he needed extra care, initial medical treatment, etc. Insurance coverage was excellent. Fast forward six years and my furry son had a serious accident falling during an ice storm that made roads, driveways and our yard into an ice skating rink. Two days of emergency care, several orthopedic specialists, pain and inflammation drug cocktails, and now therapy.
I can't extol the positives of ASPCA insurance enough. They have been superb in every respect. I even got a call from one of their agents as to how my dog was doing.
Reimbursement processing actions have been coming in as fast as 48 hours after claim placement. I wish my own health insurance was that efficient.
Top notch.
