ASPCA | Pet Insurance Review

We had two cats whom we loved like children. In 2012, our cat Simon developed diabetes and required insulin shots for several months before passing away. In 2014, after many months of treatment for pancreatic disease, his brother Alvin passed away. Both cats had very expensive treatment, and we learned that we would have been better off financially had we had health insurance. We adopted two new rescue kitties in 2014 - Sherlock and Lucy Lu. As soon as we did, we purchased ASPCA health coverage for all of our cats - the two new babies as well as Simon and Alvin's younger brother Theodore. We have given ourselves peace of mind. We know that we can give our cats proper health care. Our coverage not only takes care of them when they are ill, but they are also covered for "well cat" checkups. We love our cats like they were our children, and ASPCA Health Coverage allows us to provide proper health care for them as if they were our children. We have been very happy with the ASPCA Health Care coverage.

I have 2 cats and used to use another insurance company who, after one of my cats had 2 issues - scratched eye [from his sister] and feline acne, raised his deductible rate for the next year! ASPCA has never done anything shady that like. When I have questions they're very helpful and knowledgeable. You can tell most of the reps have pets as they're very compassionate. I've never had any issues with them and am very happy.

I have husky who developed a blocked mucous membrane and were on a wait and see due to the swelling would go up and down. Well she developed a fatty Tumoe around the mucocele and it was decided it should be remove due to compromise to trachea. So we had it removed surgically and it was a hefty bill as it was major surgery. ASPCA pet insurance said they would no cover because the treatment was over 180 days from original diagnosis. I was with them for many years. I begged them to reconsider due to the wait and see. I appealed but to no avail. They also stopped paying for my mix breed for a chronic cough. Needles to say I cancelled because they only pay for easy cheap things and are not there for you when you really need them

ASPCA is the only insurance I have had for my 2 dogs so can't compare to other but I would not make any changes. I have had no issues and I have no complaints with the coverage I chose. Claims are easy to complete. Getting paid on claims is fast. They send me an email to let me know they received the claim. Within a few days I have the money. Customer service is great. I can call with questions and always have an answer. And I like that they always follow up to see how my dogs are doing.

Premium has become a bit pricy over the years, however I never had a problem filing a claim or being reimbursed according to my coverage level.
