Great Help!

I have ASPCA insurance on my two cats and one dog. It was a blessing when my oldest cat was ill with renal disease. It helped us to care for her as well as possible during her final months. After she passed ASPCA called with condolences. They have been prompt and fair in paying claims. I recommend this insurance to anyone with a pet.

ASPCA Continuing Care Is Great

One of my dogs has been bothered with a series of ear infections and I have had to file several claims. After the deductible was paid to ASPCA they began to pay on all of the following claims which was seriously helpful.I have always thought of the ASPCA as an organization that truly cares about animals which is why I came to them for pet insurance.

Good Customer Service

I am very glad I have ASPCA insurance for my dogs. I have a puppy and a mature dog and they have been there for both. Although the process takes a minute for re-reimbursement, the process works, and the people are not only helpful but seem genuinely caring about your pets health which is nice. I have had 5 dogs total on ASPCA and even during a tough loss I feel like ASPCA was there to help. Thanks!

So Easy!

Getting my insurance reimbursement was extremely fast and easy. From the time my vet submitted the forms until the time I received payment in my bank account, it took less than 2 weeks. Very impressed and definitely glad I signed up for insurance with ASPCA.

Better off putting your money in a mayonnaise jar

Stay away. You'd be better off putting money in a mayonnaise jar in the backyard every month. At least you'd have a way to pay the vet bills. We had been customers for several years and never made a claim. When we really needed it, their deceptive and sleazy renewal policy did not pay. Our dog developed glaucoma in one eye. The eye needed to be removed because of the severity. Our regular vet referred us to a specialist. The vet suspected valley fever had attacked the eye and wanted to run tests to make sure our dog was healthy enough for the surgery. This meant a two week delay between diagnosis and surgery. Those two weeks took us into a new month and therefore a new policy. ASPCA refused to cover the surgery because the illness manifested before the new policy. They do not consider your payment as a continuation of the policy, but a new policy. It's like you have purchased the policy for the first time. You can buy extra "bridge" coverage for the policy to be treated as a continuation. This of course is not stated up front. Every insurance agent I have talked to about this has been horrified that this insurance operates like this.

Monthly Cost

Rates start at: $10 (for accident only), $16 (Complete Coverage). Rates vary based on species, age, breed, and location.

Coverage

The pay-out amount is based on the actual vet bill, at a rate pre-selected by the customer: 90%, 80% or 70%

Payout Limits

Annual limits can be set by the customer, ranging from $2,500 to $20,000, including an unlimited option. No lifetime limits.

Deductible

$100, $250 or $500 annually.

Age Limits

No upper age limits. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period

There are no waiting periods for preventive care. Coverage begins 14 days after date listed on policy for accidents, illnesses, and knee/ligament conditions.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures and breeding costs are not covered. ASPCA Pet Health Insurance has two Preventive Care plans that can be added to help cover a pet’s wellness care, including annual exams, vaccinations, tests, dental cleanings and flea/heartworm preventive. Preventive Care plans reimburse up to a set amount for each listed treatment. If your pet exhibited symptoms of a knee and ligament condition at any time, prior to enrollment or during a waiting period, all ligament and knee conditions will be excluded. Ligament and Knee are conditions involving a ligament, patella, meniscus or soft tissue disorder of the knee. Accident-Only coverage available.
