ASPCA | Pet Insurance Review

My family has been a loyal member of ASPCA Pet Health Insurance for almost 10 years now and I can say it was the best decision I ever made for my bulldog. As a new dog mom you always want to ensure the best care for your new baby. After a few years and a healthy bulldog I called to see about cancelling my policy. The agent walked me through my concerns, listened to me ration if it was worth the investment etc. They were so genuine in caring for the well being of my pet in the future, I decided to not cancel. It was the best partnership decision I have ever made. Sadly just a couple years later my bully had some medical concerns and ASPCA Pet Health Insurance was with us every step of the way. They were fair in the reimbursements, followed up with any questions I had and were always available. I can honestly say I have the peace of mind of taking my bully to the vet knowing she will receive the care she needs without mommy going into bankruptcy. I believe in the company so much, we just got a new bully member to the family and we have just signed her up as well. A friend recommended ASPCA insurance after her dog was diagnosed with cancer. I finally signed up for insurance after we suspected our dogs got into rat poison. We spent over $1000 at UC Davis. After that day, I promised myself I would never be without animal insurance for as long as I had a pet. Fast forward to October of last year, we observed that my dog wasn't feeling good. Just as luck would have it, his symptoms became more pronounced after hours. We took him to the emergency vet and learned that he was diabetic. He had to stay overnight for aggressive treatments and observation. That visit cost me $1,1820. Believe it or not, I had forgotten that my dog even had insurance. A month later, I remembered that my dog has insurance and I submitted the claim 11-30-2017. ASPCA reimbursed me for the amount of $954.42. The money was in my account on 12/20/17! I cannot thank ASPCA enough! I have been recommending them to everyone that I know that has pets!

Claims process was simple and reimbursement was timely. The direct deposit feature is very convenient.

ASPCA has helped us out with large and small medical issues. We received great coverage for Nelly's epilepsy, from the resulting hospitalization, to the monthly prescriptions. The claims process is simple through the ASPCA app. We are able to file the claim before leaving the vet's office. I tell every new pet owner I know to contract with ASPCA. You'll never know how much you need it until you need it.
