How to Save Money at PetVet365 Pet Hospital Leander
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Thank so much to Dr Pam, Savanna and Ro @ Pet Vet 365!!! We have never had such a relaxing, low key -yet excellent care and services environment in the 30+ years we have lived here. They are absolutely working as a team to provide a “Fear Free” visit. Despite our fur baby being 74# …he is a total scaredy dog when around new people & new environment. This practice schedules an hour first visit so as not to make the pet or the owner(s) feel rushed. Their “Exam Rooms” are like small living room suites-no cold steel tables here-you and your pet will find a very homelike environment with a small couch, TV on the wall, basket of toys and a “Treat Nook”. Our boy is as finicky as can be but they have such variety that they even stock whipped cream which happens to be Bo’s favorite! Another thing I’ve never experienced is the vet, the pet and the owner all together during exams and treatment. This made me so much more relaxed then having Bo leaving (and not happily)for a trip down a hall where you may or may not hear them during bloodwork etc. Bo is a rescue but his DNA showed about 20% Sib.Husky-if you have any knowledge of that breed they can be very vocally engaged-so during these times I was pretty stressed too. Bo had a thorough exam, a tiny blood draw for an in-house heart-worm test, and a 2yr. Lepto+ immunization but equally important belly rubs, time to warm up to everyone (which he did) and of course the above mentioned treats. We enjoyed meeting everyone too and left with very positive vibes. We highly recommend this practice-with so much growth in our area and their unique approach to care! Their fees are competitive for our area. They offer a couple annual visit plans that likely include all services that your pet insurance doesn’t cover. (That is my personal experience since our pet insurance doesn’t happen to cover “ROUTINE” anything.) This is a brand new practice-it is a franchise -however it’s a small one. Dr Pam & Dr Moon are co-owners.

Wonderful fear FREE experience with Dr. Pam and all the technicians! Toy box was immediately raided upon entry by my poodle-y guy and while my girl was just there for a happy visit to lend moral support this time both dogs got at least 6lbs of treats! I LOVE the frosted bottom half of the glass of the rooms since both of mine can be reactive towards other dogs, this helps my anxiety as well as theirs (reactive dog owners know what I'm talking about). Also super happy about the no lobby set up--park and text/call and once they are ready for you they have you come in and into a room so no worries about face to face encounters with other reactive dogs or sick pets! HIGHLY recommend for anyone looking for a fear free environment with a wonderful staff!

Our baby was sicker than we thought. Dr.s Pam and Moon were so gentle and kind and in tune with our baby’s stress. They did everything they could to gently figure out what was wrong. Our baby is high stress and their “fear free” way of handling the animals is so wonderful and caring. The staff was teary right along with us as we said goodbye. Their care of our baby was so amazing….like family. ❤️

Honestly I really enjoyed my experience at Vet365. My dog and I saw Dr. Pam and assistant by the name of Cat. Both of them were professional, kind, courteous, thoughtful, and took time to explain things and ask questions that were pertinent to my visit. They gave me a price quote for the services for me to make the decision as to whether or not I could afford them prior to providing the service. Honestly, I would have no problems going back and feel confident that they would treat my dog with the best care.

We have been to other vets that promise they are trained to handle anxious dogs. Pet vet365 is the real deal. Our cattledog Tex had always been fine at the vet until a needle biopsy was performed. After that he was terrified. It was very difficult to get him his vaccines. Dr.Moon and her assistant were able to examine Tex and get him up to date! It was an amazing appointment!! Your dog feels like he is at home and getting treats! We would like to give them 10 stars!!
