How to Save Money at Emergency Animal Hospital of Crystal Falls
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Our Chocolate Labrador Harley was bitten by a rattlesnake 4 times in the face and severely injured. The staff and doctors took such good care of Harley and treated her like she was their own dog. Harley ended up need 11 anti-venom treatments, developed pneumonia and had to be on oxygen, was so swollen in her face had to have a nasal trachea tube inserted for feedings, and then her wound on the top of her head became necrotic and developed a staph infection. She also ended up needing two blood transfusions as well. This all happened three days before we had to leave for a 3 week trip which was incredibly stressful for us and they gave her all the love and care while we were gone. We got multiple updates daily through calls, texts, or emails. The doctors always took their time when talking to us, explaining everything, and answering all of our questions, never rushing us. They saved Harley’s life and after 23 days there and a huge fan club for Harley from all the staff, we were able to pick her up and bring her home. She is doing great and continues to heal from her wounds. We love and appreciate everything the staff and doctors did for Harley to help her make it through this difficult time. They are all simply amazing, talented, and caring people and we highly recommend Crystal Falls Emergency Animal Hospital!!

We brought Capone, our 19 year old cat here when he was in medical distress. He had been a member of our family for over 15 years and was the most loving pet we ever had. Unfortunately, we had to make the heartbreaking choice of putting him to sleep. The entire staff was extremely professional and compassionate.

We have only great things to say about this vet! Every team member here was so kind and knowledgeable. Our cat, Lou, had to have an emergency gastronomy surgery after eating a WHOLE yummy hair tie snack. When I was unable to visit one day our vet tech even sent me photos of her. She is recovering well and on her way back to being her normal silly self. Thank you for helping our baby!

Best decision we ever made was going to Crystal Falls Emergency Animal Hospital! When our sweet boy Frank collapsed one night, we ended up here and with a new diagnosis of an abdominal mass. Dr. Brooks operated late into the night and saved Frank’s life that night. Throughout the rest of his stay, the other veterinarians, vet techs, and front office staff were amazing at keeping us informed about his progress. We were very lucky and can’t thank everyone enough!

Absolutely the best vet experience I've ever had, I came here because my doggo was acting very abnormal and disoriented. I was extremely worried at first but the staff took my boy and did an amazing job looking him over, they checked his vitals and he seemed to be fine other than his few symptoms, they gave me multiple care options and even though this is a 24hr emergency vet, the bill was absolutely reasonable if not far less than what i originally thought it may be. These are honest people who want to help your fur babies!!! Don't hesitate to stop by if your pet isn't acting it's usual self!! Better safe than sorry!
