How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Washington Heights Veterinary Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

My dog Rosie had a physical, blood work, shot, and nails trimmed. The techs were very loving and very concerned about my dog's comfort. The Dr was attentive and thorough but not an alarmist. I appreciate that too. And he was also very loving to my dog. Everyone there clearly loves animals!!

Dr. Hartis and the team did great with my very sweet boy even though he was scared. The exam was not rushed and they did an amazing job building trust with my dog and letting him “tell” them what he was and was not comfortable with.

I brought Maverick in for his annual exam and had such a great experience. The staff was warm, patient, and so gentle with him from the moment we walked in. Dr. O'Malley took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all my questions, and truly made Maverick feel comfortable. You can tell they genuinely love what they do. I always feel confident bringing him here, and today was no exception. Highly recommend this clinic for anyone who wants exceptional, compassionate care for their pets!

We have taken our cat here since he was a kitten, and they love him so much. We board him there whenever we travel, and we call it "cat party" because he has so much fun.🐈‍⬛🐱🐈

I’ve been coming here for years and I’ve always been happy with their service. I no longer live close but a 30 minute drive is worth it to me. I originally would see Dr. Case and only her because she made me and my babies comfortable. When she’s wasn’t available we started to see Dr. Kosich. He’s also a great doctor so they are my usual go to’s for our appointments. As for last minute semi emergency appointment I’ve been happy with those doctors as well. I’ve been to other clinics where I feel the Dr. is pushing for extras and recommending more than what is actually needed. But I don’t get that feeling from here. With that said, it’s still not always the cheapest. But I believe you usually get what you pay for. So even though I’ve shopped for other clinics closer to me I just can’t bring myself to leave WHVC.
