How to Save Money at Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I took Riley there for a checkup & his vaccinations. I was so pleased with everyone there! They all have great dispositions for us pet parents! Riley also approves, so I highly recommend! The prices are reasonable and comparable with low cost traveling pet clinics! On their website you can also get a coupon for free exam 1st time patients. Just register & they will email you the coupon when you schedule the visit I really can’t say enough about the Vet & her medical Asst! They are A++!

Made an initial appointment for 5pm today and received, an emailed, coupon for Free First Exam. I contacted Vetco to confirm my appointment. I was asked several questions and informed I needed to email them vaccination records prior to appointment. I also mentioned the coupon and my appointment was moved up to 4:30pm. After emailing the vaccination records, I called to confirm receipt. I was asked more questions and I mentioned the coupon to deter the add on services mentioned. We arrived to the appointment and I was again asked for the vaccination records and the same health questions I answered on two separate phone calls. At this point I was told there is a $5.99 fee if I use the coupon. I was not provided a clear explanation or an apology for the lack of disclosure. Instead, I was met with a sarcastic attitude for asking about the fee, lack of disclosures on two phone calls, and canceling the appointment. I was abruptly told happy holidays by the ignorant front desk staff. Terrible customer service. We rushed there for nothing and wasted our time.

This place is crooked BEWARE!!! I scheduled 2 appointments for my dogs a few days before the date I wanted. All of a sudden on the day of the appointment I get two text messages saying my appointment with is now New to me is on December 2nd at 9:30am and December 2nd at 2:15pm. I NEVER spoke to anyone to discuss anything. So I called the location snd asked for the Manager. A guy said he was the Manager. I asked him why are your people making up appointments without ever speaking to me. He said "We do that cause we get dinged for Camera cancellations". I said that's not my problem you don't have any authorization to just schedule an appointment without asking especially when I'm not even going to be in town. He said that is what they do. So I said don't even made up Fake appointments in my name. So he tells me don't even come there. So I sure as heck won't you Crooked Manager. First he isn't smart at all cause I cancelled those 2 Fake appointments anyway AND tje ones for today (Wednesday, Nov. 26th) so I hope your cancellation rate goes through the roof. You so called Manager need to be FIRED!!!!!!!

I’d like to first start off saying I absolutely loved the nurse or vet tech. She was so sweet and made me feel at ease even when my dog is very vocal and going through a transition of owners since her previous owner passed of cancer. I was there to get her flea meds since it had gotten pretty bad. After already feeling overwhelmed bc again my dog is not the best trained but working on it and only had her for a few months she leaves with the tech and then the Dr comes in and right away is making me feel bad for not having a mannered dog. I apologize but it’s all she would talk abt for atleast 1 minute. After she gave me the review of my dog I proceeded to check out and as she’s leaving another room she walks passed me and my dog and again my dog gets excited and the Dr proceeds to say watch it your gonna kill someone….i have a German shepherd and so for her to say that while there was other people around is not only embarrassing but shameful to even utter those words. After that I felt uncomfortable and will most definitely go to a different location so that I don’t have to feel bad about being in the process of training my dog and not be judged for it.
