How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Petcare Express
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Communication Preferences
Ask how the clinic communicates with pet parents, including updates, test results, and follow up questions.
Breed Specific Health Considerations
Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.

I’ve been bringing my pets here for over 5 years, and my experience has consistently been positive. This is a busy one doctor practice that serves a large number of clients at very affordable prices and the team works incredibly hard. In all my years coming here I’ve never felt pushed into unnecessary testing or treatment. I’ve always felt that recommendations were made with my pets best interests in mind. I trust this team and appreciate the care they’ve given my animals over the years.

Ok, I was disappointed to get there only to find out it was closed on a Friday. There's no way of knowing that beforehand because there isn't anyone who can post something somewhere (IG, or even FB or their website). They're understaffed, and it's low-cost, but it sucks if you're driving a long distance. Still, the staff are very friendly and nice. And the vet, Dr. Chang, is absolutely wonderful; he listened to the health history, read through the past test reports (from another vet clinic), of course, suggested several tests, including a full blood panel (which we couldn't afford + the results would take several days to come back). My dog had multiple visits to other vet clinics and was still having diarrhea a month later. My suspicion was that the initial treatment, which worked, was too short, and therefore, as soon as the initial treatment ended, my dog's diarrhea returned. Anyway, Dr. Chang listened and prescribed 3 antibiotics, Panacur (which is OTC, so buy it and keep it in your first aid kit), and Pro-Pectalin. And the treatment plan worked! I am so grateful to the vet, the vet techs, and the staff. The care we received was top notch. That said, be prepared for a loooong wait, and the metal benches are super uncomfortable. We were there from 10:10 am and didn't finish until 4:30 pm. Also, after several hours in the main waiting room, we were called into a small ante-room, where it was another couple of hours, punctuated by a few short visits by the vet tech to ask us questions, then more waiting (there was only 1 hard, metal chair), and then finally, another visit with the vet tech to do tests, the more waiting, and then finally, finally, we got to see the vet. NB: if you don't want to pay the inflated prices (check medication prices on Chewy for comparison) for the medications, you will need to pay $10 for a written Rx. The prices are probably not more inflated than at other vets, but if you're not in a hurry and can order online, you may save money getting the written script. Maybe. Obviously, it depends what the medication is, for how long, etc, but it's worth comparing.

I agree with everything in Joy Mendoza's review. She took the words out of my mouth with saying it has gone downhill, unfortunately. I have been taking my dogs to Petcare Express for years and have never experienced the unprofessionalism they have going on now. With the previous vet, they used to take you into a room to do an exam and administer the vaccinations/tests as needed. If there were any concerns, they would take the time to show you and educated you on what was going on. Now, they take your dogs to the back through an employee door to "speed things up." However, I waited 3 hours until my dogs were seen. The wait in itself is not new as I have waited 3 hours before, but the difference is we were actually seen in an exam room and were treated like real patients. After my experience, I am not even sure I trust that gave my dogs the vaccines I asked for. One of my dogs has also been very anxious and did not let us touch him for the first 24 hours after seeing this vet. I am not sure what happened, but I wish I would've left from the start. It is definitely all about selling! I was told about different "issues" for both of my dogs, but what they were stating did not make sense to me as I had dealt with those things before and didn't notice any symptoms in my dogs. As I sat in the waiting room I heard multiple patients be sold on "ear infections" and allergies. It started to feel like a script they were all reading from and something told me not to listen to them. I even heard the vet suggest to an owner that if he couldn't take the 6 month treatment to just take 1 month. It felt as if they were negotiating the dogs health. It did not seem right to me at all. Staff seem to be disorganized and not care like those that were there with the previous vet. It is so sad to see this place be run down by people who don't seem to care about our pets.

They took care of us quickly in spite of being "walk in's" and were very upfront with all costs and diagnosis with our cats. So far I'm very satisfied with their service and will come back

I went here looking for a walk in dog dental cleaning. The front desk staff told me they no longer provide this service since 2024. I am not sure if the service is still offered for existing patients or not. Would’ve been nice to know since I called the listed phone number multiple times before driving across town 30 minutes. The Petcare express website, automated phone service, and many reviews list dental cleaning and walk in available. They should update this & their phone number so people don’t waste their time
