How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Lakewood Forest Veterinary Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I am so incredibly grateful for this place. I have a 14-year-old cocker spaniel with high blood pressure, one eye, partial deafness, and arthritis. Despite all that, he still acts like a happy little puppy, just a bit sleepier these days. I recently returned from a New Year's cruise and left him in the care of my roommate and good friend. Yesterday afternoon, Cedric got into a Costco-sized bag of Snickers and managed to inhale about 14 of them, he ate the wrappers and all! He just gobbled them down like a madman. My roommates weren’t familiar with where I usually take him for veterinary care, but they did the right thing and rushed him to the nearest clinic. The staff was wonderful, so helpful and kind. They explained proper aftercare instructions to a T. The vet was extremely knowledgeable and took excellent care of my little guy. Cedric ended up staying overnight, and it sounds like he had quite the sleepover! He's doing well now, taking his medicine, and acting as happy as ever. If it were up to him, I’m sure he’d do it all over again! Forever thankful

My 3 senior pets, Scout (lab) The Lil'bit (bijon although they insisted on poodle lol) and my Cay, 17 yo cat. I have given them every opportunity to care for and many times brought them back for numerous reasons. Not giving a full report, lost records, overall a sense of no care for my pets what so ever. The vet that was there before, and is still listed as a vet, left over a year ago, and I'm being gracious. I am sorry to say that I would not recommend lakewood forest veterinary hospital. They have let my pets and me down terribly.
