How to Save Money at Cat Boarding by Nourish

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

This is the place for your cat! After years of boarding at the vet without a problem our elderly kitty was now coming home stressed and unhappy. We just picked him up from Nourish at Rice Village and he’s completely relaxed and in perfect condition. We will never go anywhere else - we’ve already booked the “townhouse” for our baby over Christmas.

I have boarded my cats here twice now and both times have been great! Staff are always friendly, helpful, and caring. You can tell that they really enjoy caring for your cats. The downside for me is that it is quite a drive from where I live, but the care my cats receive is worth the drive. My boy cat has several different medications that he needs throughout the day and the staff here take such good care to make sure he gets them at the proper times and dosage etc. I asked my vet for recommendations on cat boarding that is closer to my house and they said Nourish really is the only place they could confidently recommend. It is nice to have a boarding facility for just cats. Every few days you receive photo and video updates of your cats and that is a really nice touch for when you are traveling! I will continue to bring my 2 kitties here.

My previous boarding place has closed and I searched for a good, clean, spacious, caring place for my cat during a vacation of several days to Montana. I was so pleased to find Cat Boarding by Nourish very close by in Rice Village. It's clean, the cats are happy, well-cared for, and get good exercise stimulation and playtime daily. They sent email updates every 3 days with pictures, described how she was doing re: food, play, mood, etc., and the pics showed she was quite content and happy, which was a huge relief being so far away and a first stay! The care of the team was evident, and she's now back into her usual routine at home. I highly recommend them and will definitely use them again!

Cat Boarding by Nourish - Rice Village is hands down the best cat boarding facility I’ve ever used! Their exceptional service and attention to detail truly set them apart. One thing I absolutely love is how they always go the extra mile to ensure both the pets and their owners are happy. If a larger room becomes available during my cat’s stay, they kindly upgrade her at no extra cost, which shows how much they prioritize comfort and care. What really stands out is their thoughtfulness at pick-up time. Every single time, they carry my cat to the car for me and ensure we’re both taken care of. This simple gesture speaks volumes about their commitment to making the entire experience as smooth and stress-free as possible. I always feel confident leaving my cat in their care because I know she’s treated like royalty. I highly recommend Cat Boarding by Nourish at Rice Village to anyone looking for a boarding facility that combines professionalism with heartfelt care.

We are so pleased with our experience at this cat hotel! The email report with pictures was a lovely touch that we really enjoyed. The facility was immaculately clean and very inviting. The condos for the kittens were quite spacious, which we appreciated. It was great to know that our little guy had plenty of room to move around and play-without any extra charges! When we picked him up, he recognized us right away, and he settled back in at home with ease. It's clear that he was well taken care of here. In comparison to another cat hotel we used in the past, where our cat had a hard time readjusting and seemed a bit out of sorts, this experience was a breath of fresh air. We can see that our little guy truly enjoyed his stay here and we couldn't be happier with the care he received. Thank you for taking care of our baby with care ❤️
