How to Save Money at Bingle Veterinary Clinic

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I’m writing this review to express my gratitude to Dr. Seemann and the staff of Bingle Vet for their professionalism and care provided for my German Shepherd. I dropped him off for a dental cleaning and I had intended to let them know he needed a nail trim but I forgot. Not only do his teeth look great, they trimmed his nails without me asking them to do so. They are so awesome and always care for my dog like he is family. If you are looking for a great Vet look no further than Bingle Vet Spring Branch!

Great staff and great vets. They’re great with my dogs and fair on their prices. The most transparent vet I’ve been to. They make sure you know your bill and what it will be before they do anything

Beware, what was once a reputable and honest vet clinic has turned into a cold hearted, money making enterprise. Your dog or cat deserves better, there are so many other great places out there. I will never go back to them and have warned everyone I can who has fur babies to stay away from Bingle In Houston and in Katy.

nothing I do will ever undo the traumatic experience I had with this vet. This happened some years ago with a young vet or vet tech (not the owner), and sadly I don't know his name. We brought in our beloved girl cat who had cancer to be put to sleep. This wasn't my first time having to do this, unfortunately. The veterinary/tech that was put in charge of giving the lethal shot did not sedate my baby beforehand. She looked agonized and breathless and suffered for 10 long minutes, making loud noises before she passed. This is NOT NORMAL, PEOPLE. YOUR PETS SHOULD BE SEDATED FIRST IF YOU DON'T WANT THEM TO SUFFER, AND THEY DIDN'T DO THAT FOR MY CAT. He then proceeds to stuff my cat into a box far too small, pushing in her body forcefully to try and make it fix as if he's trying to close an overstuffed suitcase, and not my precious cat whose life just ended. I don't know what kind of person that works with animals would think any of this is acceptable. He came off as someone that sees animals as nothing but property, and not a life that was once full of love. I abruptly asked him to please stop, being in absolute shock of what has just happened and took her body home. Please, if you have a little extra money to spare and need to make this most painful decision, take them to a place that specializes in putting pets down with as much grace and comfort that can be offered in their final moments.

We've used Bingle Vet for 20 years. Dr. Seeman is great. Unfortunately, last month I put my 15 year old chihuahua to sleep and Dr. Ochoa was the vet. I waited in a bright exam room for 40 minutes for her after they inserted the catheter. The euthanasia room was not being used (found out after). I asked the receptionist twice if they forgot about me - they weren't busy. And they left another patient's data open on the computer. It was the worst experience ever.
