How to Save Money at Pet Vet Animal Hospitals - Baybrook Mall
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Pet Vet is just awesome. I like how they send you a reminder text for everything. I used to take my dog here in college and then I moved away. I’ve been taking my pets here again for the last few years and they have been good to us. My cat needs a monthly injection for arthritis and they’re always so flexible with squeezing us in. Grateful to them for many reasons!

I cannot express enough gratitude for Dr. Mike Mark at Pet Vet Animal Hospital. This morning, I faced the heart-wrenching loss of my beloved 17 1/2-year-old cat, Miley, a companion who had been with me her entire life. This was my first experience with losing a pet, and I was overwhelmed with grief. However, Dr. Mark was our angel during this incredibly difficult time. From the moment we walked into the clinic, Dr. Mark communicated everything in a way we could easily understand. His explanations were clear and compassionate, making a complex situation feel just a bit more manageable. He treated my sweet baby with the utmost love and care, as if she were his own. Dr. Mark did absolutely everything he could for her, ensuring she was comfortable and cared for in her final moments. His compassion didn’t stop there; he allowed us to be with our baby every step of the way, giving us the time and space to say our goodbyes. This level of empathy and understanding is something I will never forget. The loss of Miley is something that will break my heart forever, but knowing that she was in the best possible hands has given me some peace. Dr. Mark’s kindness, compassion, and professionalism during this difficult time were beyond anything I could have hoped for. He was a true blessing, and I will always be grateful for the care and support he provided during this painful process. Thank you, Dr. Mark, and the entire pet vet staff, for being there for us and for helping us through one of the hardest moments of our lives. My family has been bringing our animals to pet vet for 18+ years. If you’re looking for a vet, i 10000/10 recommend.

Brought my pet in for a hot spot and wanted the vet to check it out. He didn't even touch my dog or attempt to visually check out the affected area then had the technicians shaved it. Nobody informed us how much would that cost. They just did it. Took them 20 seconds and we were charged $50 for the shaving.

About 2 months ago i brought my cat Shadow here to get him neutered. I called on a Friday & they were able to get him in on that following Tuesday morning. I brought him in that Tuesday morning & the receptionist answered all of my questions & told me everything i needed to know for his after care. I was terrified because i’ve never had to get any of my pets neutered but the receptionist made me feel at ease! I picked him up that afternoon & the procedure went amazing! + It was very affordable! The vet called about 3 days later to check on Shadow & he was perfectly fine! This vet was absolutely amazing to Shadow & to me. Will be coming back!
