Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

BEST VET EVER! My 11 year old lab corgi mix is terrified of the vet but staff was very kind and we had the calmest/best appointment at Parkwood. Every concern and question I had was addressed with excellent communication. I didn't feel like I was getting ripped off or charged extra. I wish I knew the name of the vet that took care of my dogs because she was absolutely amazing. I would recommend them to anyone!

Both dogs love the staff. Great service, excellent staff. Everyone is very helpful, polite and courteous. Never had problems at all. I wish they could expand their business to include other pets such as reptiles.

While I was visiting my sister Candace in Clear Lake, Texas (I’m from Alabama) my 5 month old kitten Lainey; started running a fever and acting lethargic. We called my sisters Vet at PARKWOOD Veterinary Hospital and got an appointment. Doctor and Tech were awesome!! They gave us treatment options and listened to what we say. I was impressed with their compassion and care of Lainey (& us)! Lainey was better after a few days of treatment! I’m grateful the wonderful treatment, Lainey got at PARKWOOD!! Thank y’all!

Parkwood is the only vet I would ever take my dogs to. The most wonderful and caring people work here and have always taken care of my pets no matter what the issue might be. I’m so thankful for everything they have done for my family over the years. Seriously - I cannot recommend Parkwood enough for anyone looking for a vet.
