How to Save Money at Toronto Central Animal Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
Dr. Badri and his team are knowledgeable and caring. This is the one place in this big city that I feel the entire team are in it for the love of animals and not for your money. My 11-year old dog had bad teeth, but due to his age, syncope episodes, and breathing issue I wasn't really comfortable to let him go through anesthesia for the process. I could not trust any of clinics I talked to as they seemed more concerned about getting me to sign their risk form and charging me big bucks. Then I was introduced to Dr. Badri who listened to my concerns with care, and talked to me very honestly about pros and cons. After consulting I felt comfortable to trust him with the procedure and I am so glad I did. The procedure took long but went very well and along with the Ozone therapy Zippo received after the procedure, the results are unbelievable. Here isal a photo and video of my dog the next night after 7 teeth extracted and the rest cleaned. He's running and prancing like a puppy only one day after the surgery and I have to calm him down to prevent any complications 😅 I can't thank Toronto Central Animal Clinic- Dr. Badri and his team enough.

Have been taking my 13 year old dog there for just about a year now! With her being so old she has a several health issues and isn’t the nicest to strangers. Regardless the entire team treats her so kindly and gently. They are quick and explain all her health issues, test results, and treatment clearly to us and always listen to any questions we may have. Also their prices for food, medication and treatments are incredibly reasonable. I’m so grateful to have found them, and for taking such good care of my baby!

I love this place. The vets are so friendly and great at their job. They were very careful and attentive with my dog. Also, the price is very fair, I spent around $130 for four vaccines.

There was an article published by Slate recently about how difficult it can be to practice veterinary medicine, between staying afloat financially and experiencing a lack of respect and sometimes, verbal abuse by clients. It inspired me to come here and leave a review about the stand-out, wonderful service my cat Eliot and I have always received from Dr. Badri and his staff, ever since I moved to the area seven years ago. I'm afraid of dogs and worry that my already-anxious-at-the-vet cat will pick up on my fearful energy and make the appointment more difficult - staff are always kind and understanding, scheduling our appointments for when they don't see any large-breed dogs around that time. Eliot is a Bengal and he's strong and fiesty, Dr. Badri and his staff are non-plussed, accommodating and efficient with his shots. Reception staff are warm and welcoming. They always follow up with a call after shots to make sure Eliot is okay with no side effects. You can tell they *genuinely care*. In an industry that has got to have more than it's fair share of difficult moments, Dr. Badri and his staff never waiver in their compassion, professionalism and kindness. A wonderful practice to trust your furry/feathered family members with. Thank you!!

I really don't like writing negative reviews. It's been several days since I've visited the clinic and the uncomfortable experience still sticks with me. Long story short, I felt overcharged and scammed. There was a treatment that was ordered even though I hesitated and didn't actually say "yes". The pills were given on the basis of speculation and it's been days and they haven't worked. Further, the doctor advised that I do "another" test for a urine sample as ONE kidney value seemed off (all other values were normal). I informed them that my dog is on heart medication and he just had his kidney values checked. Nonetheless, looking for another reason to charge.. I ended up calling my dog's cardiologist and sending the report - the value related to the kidney can also be an indicator for many other things and thus the cardiologists don't even check for it as it can be attributed to so many other causes. I just find it awful how some vets prey on people's emotional vulnerabilities as it concerns their pets. I wouldn't go here again.
