How to Save Money at Lawrence Park Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I cannot recommend Lawrence Animal Hospital highly enough! Back in April, my dog Summit was very sick, and despite multiple visits and tests with my regular vet over several weeks, they were unable to figure out what was wrong. It was heartbreaking to see Summit suffering without answers. I decided to take him to Lawrence Animal Hospital, and it was the best decision I could have made. Dr. Larry was incredible—his expertise and thorough approach allowed him to diagnose and treat Summit quickly. The improvement was immediate, and within a week, Summit was back to his normal, happy self. I’m so grateful to Dr. Larry and the team at Lawrence Animal Hospital for their care and dedication. They truly made all the difference! If you’re looking for a vet who truly cares and knows what they’re doing, you'll want to come to Lawrence Park Animal Hospital!

I've been going to Lawrence Park Animal Hospital for a few years, ever since my toy poodle started getting sick from eating a particular canned food. My dog's previous vet did not take my concerns seriously so I sought a different vet, and proximity to my home was no longer high on my priority list. I simply wanted to source the best veterinarian clinic in the city. As soon as I went to Lawrence Park Animal Hospital, I was introduced to alternative recipes that I could easily make at home, and my dog was put on medication to settle his stomach. The level of attentiveness and compassion and veterinarian knowledge that Doctor Jen possessed astounded me. My dog was cured and back to his normal self within days. Unfortunately, my dog, who just turned 11, recently jumped off of the sofa and tore his ACL. Doctor Larry Wilder performed surgery, and along with his team, gave such precise instructions every step of the way on what I can expect from my dog in his rehabilitation in the coming weeks and months. Post-surgery, someone from the clinic followed up almost daily, and emails were responded to promptly. Once again , I cannot emphasize how incredibly capable and caring the vets and staff are at Lawrence Park Animal Hospital. My dog just came home after having his stitches removed, and there is barely any indication that my dog had a surgical procedure. I can't even see a scar. Dr. Wilder took great care in suturing, so thank you. I was so anxious if my dog would ever be able to walk normally again, but after 12 days, I see that he's nearly there. If I can speak for my dog, he'd say a big thank you for giving him back his quality of life! Do yourself a favour-- If your pet is valued as a member of the family, look no further. Go to Lawrence Park Animal Hospital and entrust your four-legged loved one in one of their vets' extremely capable hands.

I had my first appointment today with Dr Larry at Lawrence Park Animal Hospital. From the moment I entered there was a good atmosphere which is not so easy to find at an animal hospital. Erika at reception was friendly, Allison the assistant was very supportive and kind. The doctor was fantastic, took his time to explain and discuss options. I should have changed to this clinic years ago! Grateful to have my dog with them now though. I can highly recommend Lawrence Park Animal Hospital!

Wow. A vet that is kind, knowledgeable, and doesn’t try and nickel and dime you for everything! What more can you ask for. But they really went above and beyond. Dr. Larry really made me feel like my little guy was cared for and the whole team had a friendly vibe. An animal hospital isn’t a place you want to visit often, but I’ll be looking forward to my next Lawrence Park appointment.

Dr. Wilder, all technicians at the back, and front office staff managed in such an excellent manner all the serious health issues of our 6 years old bernedoodle. Dr. Wilder was very thorough and accurate with his diagnosis and had a continuous honest conversation with us about the treatment process. His team, under his guidance were able to save the life of our dog. It felt as our dog was the most important patient in that hospital. 😁 We will be forever thankful to Dr. Wilder and his staff. All the best!
