How to Save Money at Tillsonburg Veterinary Centre
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I’ve been taking my animals here for several years. They are very accommodating for appointments, especially in emergency situations. You are provided with options at appointments and they ultimately let you make the final decision for your pet, without upselling. I know when I go here, I will be provided with honest, knowledgeable information. They always call to check-in on how the animals are after appointments and genuinely seem to care about your fur-family. Dr. Bianca and the team are so kind that my dogs get excited to hear they’re going to the vet!

Where do I start ! I took my dog in for a check up because of his age, keep in mind nothing was wrong with him. I wanted his blood work done because of his age. The blood work came back fine. While he was there I ask the vet to check his anal glands, after the vet appointment I noticed swelling and redness, I took him back and they emptied his glands again I think it was a Tues. I noticed on Friday his area was red so I flipped him over and noticed blood in his groin area under his skin, so I took a picture of it and sent it to the vet and called them to check their emails. Two hours later and I didn't hear from them so I jumped in my truck and went into the office,I saw three of them go into the back room,I'm guessing to look at the email. They would not see him and stated that the veterinarian industry is under extreme crisis, and that he had an ultrasound booked for Tuesday but pointed out if I should not show up for the appointment I still had to pay for it. I showed up at 8:30 and waited for 2 hours and the people that were supposed to do the ultrasound did not show up. I then went home and left him there and about an hour later they called me to pick him up the vet that had taken him in was visiting from another Veterinarian Clinic and she was concerned about grunt when I called to try to get an appointment a couple days later they would not see him so I had to drive an hour and a half to see the other vet and we ended up having to put him to sleep. The lack of compassion from these people after I paid over $1,000 for them to help my dog ended up costing him his life and I will never forgive myself for taking him there. I'm not sure what happened that within 2 weeks my dog was dead but the way they treated him was soul-crushing.i noticed the day of the ultrasound there was a poop sample out in the front and I even told them it was there about 4 hrs later it was still there. I loved that dog so much i I have cried for days and can't sleep at night because I took him there and trusted these people.

I had a great first visit with my Beagle puppy. The place is very clean and has large outdoor parking and green area where I could walk and play with the puppy while we waited (although we had a scheduled visit, there might be a 15-30min wait time until place gets sanitized between visits). I got all the info I needed and more, the puppy got all he needed and more (lovely treats after vaccine and a bag to go). The staff is experienced and well organized (additional puppy info and background collected during our wait time) as far as my knowledge goes.

Always had great experiences with our pets here. Not only are the Vets great, but the office staff of Gillian, Courtney and others make the experience that much better. Just got our dog Harper spayed yesterday here and we are blown away the quality and size of the incision for a major surgery like that. We trust them fully

Our family is entrusting five our pets to Tillsonburg Veterinary Centre and have been since we arrived in Tillsonburg area in 2012. Since then we have gone through many ups and downs with our pet's health and sadly we had to say good bye to the oldest one in 2019. All I can say is that Tillsonburg Veterinary Centre has always been there for us but most importantly for our beloved pets. Our pets are part of our family and it is comforting to us that all of them are under the care of the entire staff at Tillsonburg Veterinary Centre... (Thank You TVC)
