How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Smiths Falls Veterinary Services

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

We moved and didn't have a regular vet yet but when our cat was unwell, they were able to take him in very quickly. The staff are amazing and obviously obsessed with all animals, in the best way possible. Shout out to Haley for taking such good care of our timid boy and Dr. Ferguson for treating him so well. Honestly, we would love to bring the rest of our cats because we know they'll be taken care of here!

What a mess this place is. The staff is great but the doctors are not experienced or knowledgeable. On two separate occasions i brought my cats for a checkup. My first cat had fever and mucus coming out of her mouth. The vet just gave us pain/fever meds instead of ANTIBIOTICS. My poor kitty passed two days later. The second time when I brought my other cat to show her inflamed and infected teeth I was met by a a very aggressive and pushy vet who said she needed a full mouth extraction and quoted me $6000 for this. $1500 per each side upper / lower jaw. I sought a second option from Lanark vet, they diagnosed her with gingivitis and did a dental cleaning for a fraction of that. Two year later my cat’s teeth are still fine.

I have been a customer for well over 20 years. I honestly can't say enough about how great they are. Everyone from the front desk to everyone we don't see. They are just amazing to deal with so loving and caring towards the animals and the customer. They are willing to help even if it means a payment plan. I can't thank the people at smiths falls vet enough for everything they have done for me and my animals.
