How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Rouge River Animal Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I am writing this review some time after we had to put to sleep our beloved kitty. The clinic employees and a doctor were very attentive and caring. This is very important in the difficult moments of saying goodbye to your beloved pet. There was absolutely no feeling of "Who's next?" that we felt in our previous clinic.

The best Vet in Markham. I have been with Dr. "C" for just shy of 20 years. She has been with both my dogs from the first days they entered our home, to their final moments. Our family loves her and the staff very much. Our last dog had multiple medical issues and we only trusted her and staff to attend to his needs and to board him whenever required. They are the best!

I try not to post overtly negative reviews as everyone is entitled to an off day. HOWEVER, I had such an off-putting experience here that I will never return. As many others have mentioned, the vet here is extremely rude, belligerent, patronizing and condescending towards customers and her staff. My heart goes out to them as the front desk people have always been lovely. My advice to them; seek a less toxic workplace asap. My advice to you; do not trust your cherished love ones to this person.

Dr. C was careless and had no patience to cut my dog’s nail. She was not nice to her staff in front of us, and was rude with us as well. She kept saying my dog was so nervous, but she had no patience at all to deal with her. Basically she told me that everything that I am doing to my dog is either not correct or partially correct. The food that I give to my extremely healthy dog is wrong, the treats are not sealed by Canadian’s vet, the pet insurance is not recommended as she never heard about it, and so on…I could go over, but it doesn’t worth it my time, as you can read other reviews as well and take your own conclusion. The staffs are nice and deserve a working environment free of harassment.
