How to Save Money at Georgina Veterinary Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
If I could leave a zero star review I would. Absolutely awful vet. The receptionist was rude from the beginning. And then to get my bill of over $500 for routine vaccines and exam. They failed to disclose pricing for flea and tick treatment that was $250. I had to wait hours for the “office manager” to call me back. Who was also RUDE. Never during my appointment, start to finish was I told of the price. We had budgeted for a certain amount-which I had called a week prior to, to get the amount. The office manager then went on to tell me that I never called because there was no note in the account proving I did. That extra $250 could’ve been my budget for groceries. And now I wouldn’t have it. I will never be going back here.

Came here during an unknown crisis with my dog. While making the appointment I explained that I am on a budget. Big mistake as when we walked in I wasn't greeted at all the receptionist 1. Didn't make eye contact or speak to me at all. The second one spoke very loudly while I tried to help a lady with questions on her dog's care. The vet was rude and short with me and when I realized that I didn't have enough money for the blood test my dog needed and I was so upset I was in tears and feeling so helpless the vet told me not to cry infront of my daughte, but offerrd no help.. charged me 7$ for a can of food when my dog had refused food for for 3 days prior gave my dog, tried adding a few medications and antibiotics to the bill while not knowing why my dog wouldn't eat , gave IV fluids that in turn could have given my dog brain damage and rushed me out the door. The next day i sought out a second opinion in Newmarket and they told me (without charging me a dime) that my dog needed emergency care asap and his life depended on it. . Long story short compassion dissappears and you are treated like a low class citizen if you let Georgina vet know you are on a budget, they don't care even slightly about the animal and it shows.. they will give you no time of day or compassion whatsoever. If you are ever in a crisis with your pet don't waste your time attending this vet. King Animal Hospital saved my dog and worked with me so I could afford to do so. Never ever again will I step foot in a place with my child and my pet where each one of us are treated like we don't matter.

We have been using Georgina Vet services since we got our "Lily" about 6 years ago. We have had a few dogs in our family since 1974, while living across Canada and have taken them to several vets from the west coast to NF. We are very pleased with the staff and vets at this clinic. Everyone has been very honest and helpful, kudos to Dr Wardley, Ingrid the office manager and the rest of the staff for making us feel comfortable in the knowledge that our Lily is in good and capable hands on each visit. Thank you.

We brought our miniature labradoodle to Georgina Veterinary Clinic today because she has been sneezing a lot lately. The doctor and his caring staff took great care of us and were careful to follow appropriate health and safety measures while serving clients at the clinic. This facility has a large parking lot with easy access from Highway 48 and High Street Sutton. The holiday decorations add a comforting touch.

For my first ever puppy, I am so happy that I chose to go with this clinic! My experience as well as the service from Georgina Vet Clinic is always so pleasant. The staff are phenomenal - from the receptionists, to the vet assistants, to the veterinarians. Always so sweet and you can tell they truly care about you and your pet. I have so much trust and never have to worry about my fur baby knowing she is in such caring hands. I never feel as if I'm being ripped off/up-sold, and the vets are always willing to give me affordable options and are never pushy/judgemental. Couldn't say enough wonderful things about them! Highly recommend!
