How to Save Money at Pine Ridge Veterinary Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I have lived in Cobourg for almost 6years! About 2 years into living in Cobourg I had the pleasure of owning 4 cats during my time here and Pine Ridge has cared for all of them. I had my first experience with them with my senior cat Delilah and then also now with my young cats Cosmo and Rosie. Everyone that works at Pine Ridge is so nice and caring for the people and animals that come through their doors. Dr.McKenzie has been my primary vet since I started coming to the clinic and I have always been happy with her care but also trust everything she has to say. I never feel pressured into any types of treatments, and I’m always given alternative options as well. They provide amazing care and make sure they are proving the best care for all their patents. I am always referring people to Pine Ridge because I am just so amazed and thankful for everyone that works there. Thank you Dr.McKenzie and everyone else for proving our fur babies with the best care possible

My dog and I have visited Dr. Mackenzie a few times now and I can confidently tell you that she’s officially my Veterinarian for life! My Doodle will be 9 in April, I have took him to different vets concerned with his skin health but Pine Ridge Veterinary is hands down the best clinic with the best staff. The vibe is welcoming, loving, caring and patient. It’s very clear they care about your pet and you. My doodle typically has anxiety being outside his comfort zone (aka his daily routine) but at Pine Ridge Vet clinic he’s been chill since day one. As a dog Mom who loves her dog more than anything, I highly recommend Pine Ridge. The staff and vets are all very lovely, passionate and there to help you. Please trust my words, you won’t regret it! Update*** My dog had surgery and is doing great! While he was under they cleaned his teeth… let me tell yah, the dudes teeth and breath are flawless.

Everyone here is so friendly and knowledgeable. My former vet retired and I was really sad that I had to switch practices as I really liked her team. However, Dr. Lindquist has been so wonderful, kind and caring that I'm actually sad I didn't switch sooner. He very obviously loves animals and I'm so grateful for all of the care and love my dogs have received here. Wonderful practice, excellent, knowledgeable, kind team. Thank you to everyone here so much for being so lovely and pleasant to deal with. I really appreciate you.

I'm so grateful for friends recommending us to bring our first-ever pup to Pine Ridge Vet. It's been 16 months, and we've had the best care.

Ì am a new client at this clinic and I have been very welcomed there. My black cat Felix was diagnosed with diabetes the first time I was there. Was not expecting that at all. Ì thought I was going to have to put him down but Dr Pat and Dr Karen convinced me that Felix could live with this disease and that they would help me manage it. My job as a petsitter takes me away from home and I would only be able to do his insulin once a day. The Drs said it would be better than nothing and let's just see how he does. He is doing fantastic. Ì am so grateful to the Drs at Pine Ridge Vet Clinic. Ì still have my Black Beauty and he'll be around for awhile yet!! Here he is with his buddy Yoda.
