How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Cayuga Veterinary Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I don't even know where to start. Receptionists are angels. Love them. The vet herself needs to retire. As for the two stars those are for the receptionists. They deserve 5 stars for having to work with that vet. The vet gets zero stars in my books. I booked my first appointment with her the day after I got my puppy and she told me I should have brought him in sooner. How could I have brought him in if I didn't have him? Another occasion my dog swallowed his harness and we called and nobody answered so in a panick I rushed over and they treated my dog. Receptionists were very helpful. All the vet said was we cant take you if you dont call ahead of time. Receptionists backed me up and said I did call. Fast foward a few months.. I was there last week asking reception when their next appointment was to euthanize because my old girl wasn't doing well. Receptionists told me in an hour to come back and they could do it. They squeezed me in and I am thankful for not having to let my dog suffer for longer than necessary. The first thing the vet said when she walked in the room, while I was saying goodbye forever to my beloved dog was you can't just walk in and expect appointments and expressed her dislike in having to put pets down. They should not have taken me if she didn't want to do it. I could have gone somewhere else. Right after my dog had passed she responds to my grief by telling me her husband is sick and she is tired. No compassion. Will be finding a new vet. Kudos to the Receptionists. Vet, please retire for your own sake and for the sake of your clients.

Dr. Borland is excellent! Caring, very knowledgeable, supportive, and understanding. I drive 45 minutes to see these guys. I've have other vets, but I'm staying here. I've trusted them with all of my pets and never been disappointed.

Dr. Reid and Dr Borden are both highly knowledgeable, thorough and personal, along with the rest of the staff at this clinic. We have been visiting this clinic since 2008. Prices are reasonable and any concerns you have with your pet will be professionally addressed. Cannot recommend them enough!

Dr R. Borland is a caring, knowledgeable efficient vet. Her staff are great as well as knowledgeable. My dog loves Dr. Borland as well as her staff. I have gone to her for several years and have always had top notch expert service. Regardless of what you go there for it's good to know you can count on them. Five plus stars.
