How to Save on Veterinary Costs at West Carleton Animal Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

The vets and staff here have been very kind and patient with us on multiple occasions as we investigated health issues and concerns over the years with our beloved dog. When my niece accompanied us to an appointment they were kind enough to explain things to her as she is very inquisitive. My only note is you must self advocate. You must push for answers for your pet. They are very busy and things can fall through the cracks if you don't follow up. They treat our pets well and we are pleased with their kindness and understanding overall.

I've been a loyal client of the west Carleton animal hospital for over 30 years. I've always trusted their expertise and care for my pets. However, I was recently shocked and saddened to learn that they have dropped me as a client due to being "too busy". This is incredibly disappointing and unprofessional. It feels like my long-standing relationship and trust have been disregarded. I strongly advise potential clients to consider other veterinary clinics that value their customers and prioritize their pets well-being. Shame on you Mark

Very compassionate care Sadly, we had to put down our cat recently. Tracey provided us with much needed emotional comfort and support during the procedure. 👃

Always very helpful, knowledgeable, kind, patient and never tries to upsell you. I feel they have my pets health as their main priority. I have had to have previous fur babies cross the rainbow bridge and even during those difficult times, they have cared deeply for each of them and the feelings of my family.
