How to Save on Veterinary Costs at South Barrie Animal Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

We have been coming here for about a year and a half now with our girl, Ginger, and we are treated with care and respect every single time. Every single clinician and service person here is kind, knowledgeable and caring! This is a wonderful clinic, with compassionate people and is reasonably priced. We will continue driving here, even though it is out of our way, but it is worth it for the level of care we receive!

Milo isn’t the biggest fan of the vet but he handles it like a champ thanks to our friends at South Barrie Animal Hospital! Caring, compassionate, knowledgeable, the list goes on! Always a great experience.

Always a positive experience when I visit South Barrie Animal Hospital! These vets care about the animals and not the money in my opinion which’s is very very rare. After every appointment the next day I get a phone call asking how my animals are doing and if there is anything else they can do to help. Everyone who works there is extremely kind and friendly. I would recommend anyone and everyone to bring their animals here!

I wanted to take a moment to just thank the whole team at South Barrie Animal Hospital, especially Dr. Iqbal. My cat, Lily, was acting very strange on Friday. After coming home, I knew something was wrong, and knew we had to take her to the vet. These folks go us in same day, within a 2-hour time line from when I called. Upon arriving there, we found out some devasting news from the doctor. Dr. Iqbal was blunt, but honest, and took the time to explain the situation thoroughly (although I was a mess and missed half of it). He promptly got us a treatment plan and a follow up appointment 4 days later, of which the treatment has seemed to work and she is showing massive signs of improvement. He called it a miracle. The thing that needs to be mentioned, is that Dr. Iqbal does not just treat your pet - he treats the families too. He recognizes that this is not just a horrible situation for the pet, but their carers as well. He was supportive, knowing that my world got turned on its head, and reassured me that the best I chance I had was to stay strong for her and give her the best chance I could. Although I had a minor hiccup with us not receiving a certain medication we were supposed to, we had a follow up call the very next day where the front office noticed we didn't have it and had it arranged for pick up within the hour. I cannot thank this team enough for everything they have done for Lily, myself, and my family.

Always a good team to interact with and good at explaining the process and options. As my old female dog has aged, she is always treated with care and compassion - thank you.
