How to Save Money at Cheshire Cat Feline Health Center
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
After being on a wait list at this clinic for over two months due to "system upgrades," I called today to get an update. Lili answered the phone and right off the bat was somewhat rude and unprofessional. I have no idea what her issue was, but you’re at work and should conduct yourself in a professional way. I asked to please speak to a manager since it didn’t feel like Lili had any interest in helping me. Rather than transferring me to a manager, she put Ashley Young (a vet) on the phone. From the moment she joined the call, Ashley was unfriendly and clearly biased in favor of her coworker. Without even asking what happened, she said, “Lili said you called her a b*tch.” Sorry, but what? Not only did I not say that, I hadn’t used any profanity at all. Yes, I sounded frustrated but I had not raised my voice, or sworn at her. I was shocked that a vet would speak to me with that kind of language, let alone take such an accusatory tone with no context. The vulgarity and unprofessional attitude from both Lili and Ashley in such a short conversation was unbelievable. The fact that Lili had to lie about what I said shows there was no valid complaint from her end. I told Ashley that I absolutely did not use that word, and that Lili was being both rude and dishonest. Ashley’s response? She said they don’t have time for any new patients, they’re overwhelmed, can’t even take lunch breaks, has to work on weekends, and that she was supposedly on her way into surgery yet she somehow had time to come to the phone just to support her coworker’s lie & bad attitude. Ashley mentioned that if the lady who hires "felt like hiring another vet" then maybe they could accommodate patients better. Yikes. After this experience, I would not trust either of these individuals with my cats, let alone any real medical concerns. If this is how the staff chooses to treat people, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Mr. Smith should consider implementing call recording, because if he heard how his staff speaks to people, I wonder if he would approve of it. From my experience, Lili has no business working with people or animals. She is rude, dishonest, and unpleasant. Ashley’s behavior wasn’t any better. I’ll happily take their one piece of good advice and find a better clinic. I sincerely hope they both have the day they deserve. ----- As an edit - Ms. Young contacted me several hours after my review was posted, accusing me of being dishonest and claiming she was offended. I can only assume she’s upset that I included some of the inappropriate comments she made during our phone call. It’s unclear to me why she believes that following up via email, after hanging up on me, is an effective or professional way to handle criticism. I was under the impression from her that the clinic was too busy to take on any additional work. Yet somehow, there’s time to chase down reviews and send accusatory emails.

My cat morgan has had a surgery here as well as regular health check ups. I have seen multiple different vets who work here and have had a good experience with all of them. The receptionists are also very helpful whenever I have called. They are specific to cats so they know how to help minimize the kitty's stress when they don't have great past veterinary experiences. They have also been helpful about showing me the individual expenses and choosing what treatments are really required, rather than over charging or adding unneeded services (like our past vet). Morgan is very anxious and scared whenever we have to leave the house, so being a cat only vet helps keep her calmer as it's pretty quiet and relaxed in the waiting area. She is actually very cooperative about treatment so they have let me stay with her through her shots to alleviate some of her anxiety. Overall I definitely recommend this veterinary clinic, after having plenty of pleasant experiences with them and seeing how much they love cats!

I really couldn’t be more grateful for this cat clinic. I have two babies and my older girl is pretty spicy. All of the staff treat her with all the love and care she needs, even though she may be a little challenging sometimes. I’ve always felt like things were thoroughly explained to me, and I’ve never felt rushed along with my questions. I recommend this clinic to all of my friends who have felines. 10/10 recommend!

After many years of excellent care they left me twisting in the wind with boarding and heath certificates. They both lied and gave me wrong information about health certificates, they were unwilling to work with me to coordinate with a pet relocation service and basically became obnoxious and rude. I mean they actually lied! They were completely wrong about health certificate requirements and tried to pass off that misinformation to me and were offended when I called them on it. When I asked them to work with the pet relocation team they said working with a third party violated HIPPA which doesn’t apply to veterinary care it only applies to humans. When I called them on it they lied again claiming it was OSHA, which again, doesn’t even come close to applying. They also lied and blamed me for being hostile when they were jerking me around, lying to me and trying to pass off wrong information. I am so disappointed in how low they have sank. They used to be excellent. I don’t know what happened. I hate posting this but I believe people need to know.
