We brought our girl here as first time patients and I was very impressed! I will be back and highly recommend! Dr. Paul was informative and honest. He didn’t try to get us to agree to unnecessary tests or medication. The staff was friendly and greeted us when we first walked in even though they seemed busy. They were all so nice to our girl too! This was a wonderful first impression and I am really glad we went here. The online appointment booking is also great and makes it really easy to set an appointment and get seen asap! When my regular general vet let us down American Animal Hospital really stepped up and made sure our pup was on a path to full health!

I want to leave a five-star review for American Animal Hospital in the Clairemont Square (Veterinarian in San Diego, California), and especially recognize Crystal. I spoke with her recently, and she was incredibly helpful and kind. We have three pets, all over 10 years old, and the doctors and staff have taken such wonderful care of them over the years. They truly help keep our pets healthy and thriving, and we feel so grateful for their experience and knowledge. Everyone is always helpful, professional, and caring. Their prices are fair and reasonable, and the quality of service and customer care is exceptional. Highly recommend American Animal Hospital!

My dog just had a dental and wellness exam here. I was so nervous but it didn’t take too long and everything went smoothly, he was back to normal the next day. Also Dr Paul is very thorough with the exam and not rushing. The staff were very nice to us too!

Number 1 best vet in all of San Diego. They take excellent care of my cats. The docs wear something that help cats feel calmer. I love it here and recommend it to everyone.

A family run practice - Was quoted $900 for a treatment on my cane Corso that another vet quoted $4300. No fluff (literally), straight forward treatment. The office isn't super big or decorated but they serve the best purpose which is taking care of our animals without charging an arm and a leg. My family has been going to see the Dr. Gil(s)l for years. We drive from Oceanside, willingly. Thanks Dr. Gill(s)!
