How to Save Money at Animals Only
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Amazing pet rehab clinic! The staff here is so friendly and kind, and my dog literally can’t wait to jump out of the car for his treatments—something I never thought I’d say about a vet office! After five leg surgeries in just three years, we were running out of hope. Dr. Schuda changed everything. She’s patient, compassionate, and always mindful of both time and financial constraints. She comes up with creative rehab plans that truly work for you and your dog. Thanks to Animals Only, our pup made incredible progress. We thought amputation might be the only option, or that he’d never bear weight on his leg again. Now he walks great, runs, even sneaks in a jump (though we’re careful!)—and most importantly, he’s happy, energetic, and smiling again. I honestly don’t know what we would have done without the amazing team at Animals Only. So grateful—thank you for giving Reed his joy back!

We brought our dog Leo, who has elbow dysplasia, to physical therapy hoping to alleviate his limp. At just 14 months old, he was experiencing significant inflammation and wasn’t walking as well as he should. Initially, he underwent weekly stim therapy and hydrotherapy (water treadmill), and we started noticing positive changes within just two weeks! I admit I was skeptical about the effectiveness of physical therapy, but I was pleasantly surprised. The doctors and technicians at Animals Only are exceptional; they truly understand how to work with dogs. Leo was quite skittish and fearful at first, but the staff was incredibly patient, giving him the space he needed while gently helping him overcome his anxiety about the treatments. Now, he actually seems to enjoy hydrotherapy, which has been a joy to witness. We highly recommend Animals Only to anyone seeking physical therapy for their dogs. Their expertise and compassionate care have made a significant difference in Leo's life!

My boy Bruno has had 2 full rounds of pt at animals only. They were able to fit us in very quick from his initial injury (partial CCL tear). My boy has flourished since he started going to animals only. He’s made so many friends in the staff! Every time we go in everyone knows him by name and I can just tell how much they love him! He’s pretty stable now, very strong, lost weight, etc. I’d recommend animals only to anyone whose dog needs it.

We can’t say enough amazing things about Animals Only and the incredible care they provided for our pittie, Gaia. From the moment we walked in, we knew Animals Only was special. Not only is the space and layout immaculate and calming, but the entire team shows next-level professionalism, warmth, and compassion. Gaia went through hydrotherapy, laser, and gym-based physical therapy following two TPLO procedures - and she did awesome with all of it. Despite hating water, she was walking into the hydro tank on her own within a few sessions! That’s how safe and supported she felt. Dr. Schuda is absolutely amazing and a rare find. She is knowledgeable, honest, and holistic in her approach. Dr, Schuhda doesn’t just treat the condition or symptoms; she treats and evaluates your whole pup. Both her and Todd always took time to explain everything thoroughly, including how other non-rehab factors might be affecting Gaia’s progress. We ended up transitioning Gaia’s PT to home care, and Dr. Schuda created a clear, customized plan for us to follow through week 11. We’ve continued the exercises and I've been blown away by the noticeable improvement. There was a waiting list when we first called (to ensure there is enough room on the schedule, which I appreciated), and it was definitely worth the wait. We HIGHLY recommend Animals Only to anyone and everyone (especially pittie parents!). Thank you for everything you do!!!
