How to Save Money at Grandview Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.
How Do You Choose the Right Pet Insurance Provider?

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
Our 10 year old cat, who is usually the happiest boy on earth, started acting odd on Thursday afternoon. He was fine in the morning but suddenly was hissing, cry meowing, licking his bum a lot and panting. Trusted my gut and took him, and am so glad I did. I first called my usual vet who recommended to call Grandview as they are not equipped to handle to handle crystals, so I would have to send him off to emergency. Plus, since Grandview wasn't an emergency clinic, it also may be a little cheaper. I'm currently on mat leave, so as much as my cats are worth it, a $3000 bill isn't possible. I called at noon, and Grandview was able to see me at 3:30 - the longest hours of my life, and I'm sure my poor boys. I showed up 15 minutes early and saw right away. I did not have a lot of interaction with the vet as due to the emergency situation, a full exam wasn't needed to figure out my poor boys bladder was full and likely blocked. The assistant and techs were amazing and so friendly in person and on the phone. Mac is a huge love bug and will take all the pets he can get. It sounds like he won over everyone's heart, which brings me a log of comfort. There was a little issue with communication from the vet, kept being told hed call me but never did during those 48 hours but ill take the good with the bad. Any time I called the ladies on the phone were great and gave me as much information as they could. We had just done away for the long weekend as its scary to think if it happened while away he would of suffered for three days and could of come home to him passed. These guys saved my boys life and am forever grateful.

Really great team in there. Appreciate the vet techs & receptionists. They are phenomenal at handling my high stress cat & communicating well with other cats/dogs nearby so I can go in and out of the clinic easily. Only unsure with one vet who is usually fine… my last visit I had to prove a small lump on my cat as he couldn’t find it and assumed I thought it was his spine. Even went over his bone anatomy, which I get but would have appreciated a bit of patience as the lump was located and I was now quoted $800 for a lumpectomy. (I’m sorry I wish I’d remember his name)

I travel to this vet clinic with my animals all the way from Vancouver Island to see Dr.Navpreet Mahli. Not only is he kind and thorough but he is affordable and bends over backwards to help you when you need it. I cannot say enough great things about him! He does all my spay/neuters for my Scottish Fold Kittens and has also done a dental and tooth extractions for my senior dog. When I have had urgent issues, he is very willing to help. He is hands down the best vet I have ever known! Thank you Dr.Mahli, from Kathryn at Tsunami Cats
