How to Save on Veterinary Costs at VCA Healing Paws Animal Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Best vet ever! Diagnosed my dog with thyroid issues after we'd been to other vets and thyroid blood work never done. He had put in a lot of weight and had hair loss. Back to his healthy self.

So in depth and informative. Both Dr. Maya and Alex are genuinely animal lovers who are interested in hearing about your pet as an individual. They're not pushy at all with their treatments and always want what's best for your animal and you. Pic of my child for tax 🥰

Dr. Maja and her team are just amazing! I have a very nervous rescue dog who usually doesn't do well at the vet. Dr. Maja and her team were super friendly, calm and so loving towards my girl. My dog was so calm in their care, I have never seen her like that before! Incredible service. 10/10!

We love going to see Dr Maja - she is the reason we commute from Vancouver to Port Moody for our vet care.

DO NOT go here! Brought my dog here for kennel cough, the Vet proceeded to tell me that if my dog has a fever they need to do blood work and send a sample (obviously this is going to be costly), I said well does he have a fever? The vet said they were going to check, left the room with my dog, came back and asked me again if I wanted go ahead and do the blood work and a sample, I asked again if my dog has a fever and the vet said he doesn't. SO disappointing, clearly this vet is just trying to make money because my dog did not require those extra services and trying to prey on people who love and care for their pets. My first time going here and will never go back.
