How to Save Money at Vedder Mountain Veterinary Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I was recommended this vet from a family friend who spoke very highly of this clinic. My first experience with them was nothing short of amazing. The staff was so kind and compassionate my visit was to put my senior dog to sleep. Dr. Mann was so kind she made us feel so comfortable during this hard time. You could feel the genuine love she has for her fur clients. The staff was patient, kind and respectful. I couldn't be happier with my visit.

I can not say enough good things about the staff here. I recently went through putting a deeply loved family friend to sleep, the staff was beyond accommodating and sensitive throughout the entire process. If you have ever experienced letting go of your little loved one in a cold and heartless way PLEASE know there is a place out there - Vedder Mountain Vet Clinic - you will be able to say the goodbye you need. So a very heart filled thank you to the entire staff of Vedder Mountain Vet Clinic for being very professional, but also very human and compassionate in our time of need.

My time with Vedder mountain Vet spans 20 years, the previous owner Doctor Ross, had given me an abandoned kitten, I named her Vader. For 20 years Vader was a huge part of my life, and a patient of the Vet. After 20 years, she was getting old and sick. I had taken her back to Vedder Mountain Vet, to her put down. Believe me it was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. I loved that cat, but knew it was time. By the time I left, I was a mess, I mean I was bawling when I walked out. A week later a knock came at my door. It was vedder Vet with flowers and card, signed by everyone. I can't tell you how it made it me feel that Vader and I meant that much, that they would take time out of their schedule to bring me these. what a surprise. This level of compassion from Vedder Mountain Vet means so much to me, and I'm so grateful for this. Such a great place to bring your pets, knowing they truly care for animals. Thanks so very much

The staff are nice but they are price gauging like crazy here! I have an outdoor cat who comes home with a wound every now and then. I had a vet in Kelowna who was amazing and it never cost me more than $300 for treatment. I've brought my cat here twice due to a puncture wound and the first time they tried to give us a $2000 bill which my husband got down to $600 when you look at all the unnecessary stuff they want to do. The second time my cat had an abscess from an infected wound. He's had this before and I knew he needed antibiotics. The vet took him back and came out to tell me the abscess had ruptured and looked mostly drained he suggested to cut back his hair to avoid mating and further infection. He said they could do it but would need to sedate him which seemed unnecessary as I've had vets shave around his wounds and not have to sedate him. I said I can manage that at home myself. The vet left and somebody else came to go over the bill with me and it was $650! That price didnt make sense considering the vet had just come to tell me everything is looking fine. I declined all the unnecessary things they wanted to do and walked out with the antibiotics and a $100 bill. My cats wound has healed and hes as happy as can be! I understand perhaps they want to take precautionary measures but $550 is a stretch and all those extra are honestly unnecessary trauma for my cat to especially to be sedated to simply shave his fur. Anyway, I dont trust them and time to look for a new vet in town!

We recently had a good first experience bringing our puppy to Vedder Vet Clinic. Dr. K was amazing. Very patient and kind, listened well and seemed knowledgeable. The vet tech, while friendly, seemed like she was on the job for the first day. Generally awkward and unsure how to engage with a timid puppy, and not confident in her answers about deworming, flea/tick medications (basic things).
