How to Save Money at Cheam View Veterinary Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.
How Do You Choose the Right Pet Insurance Provider?

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
We brought our cat Kizzy in because he was having bladder issues and they automatically brought him in for ex-rays that showed he was experiencing bladder crystals. This is my mother’s cat and she was not happy leaving it for 3 nights but it was for Kizzy’s best care. The doctor informed us that everything will be alright and he also came in on his day off to check in on Kizzy. It was expensive but worth it for our furry friend. Thank you for amazing accommodation, gave us updates whenever we called, and saving Kizzy!

Had a really great experience with staff member Sophia while visiting their clinic. Super impressed with the knowledge she shared about the difference between advantage and revolution. It was very informative. Was my first time there and will definitely recommend to all my friends the fantastic service and professionalism displayed at this clinic🤩

I have been going to Cheam View Vet Hospital since moving to Chwk. I cannot say enough good/heartfelt things about Dr. Kuldeep Chahal and his wonderful compassionate team (special shout out to Jasmine, Sophia and Finn). Dr. Chahal is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about his work with animals and with how he communicates with you as a client - especially when it comes time for end-of-life care. I know every time I have brought any of my pets to him, they have received the best care possible. Thank you so much Dr. Chahal & team from Nootka and I - you are all the best!

READ REVIEWS, this clinic is under investigation by the veterinary board and will hopefully be shut down soon after causing many families distress, killing their animals, putting them through unnecessary medical treatment, charging more than what is quoted and refusing to let you go home with your pet until you pay them absurd amounts for UNNECESSARY and unauthorized treatment (they will threaten you). I went to this clinic with family and their beloved dog who had managed to cut herself on the farm. The rude staff is the least of this clinics problems. They suggested that she would need two invasive surgeries to remove infected tissue and may not make it out of surgery. The owners went with their gut and left to get a second opinion. Second vet, no signs of infection at all. Did not need surgery. The wound was glued shut and she got a shot of antibiotics and is doing well. I’m appalled from the reviews I’m reading and every pet that has suffered here. Please, if you love your pet DO NOT bring them to this horrible place. Like all other reviews have said, go literally ANYWHERE ELSE. ZERO STARS

Went in short notice because my cat was sick and when I got there, the younger assistant/tech that dealt with me was unnecessarily rude for no reason. She didn't listen when I listed my cats symptoms so I had to repeat myself and correct what she wrote for the vet. Had to wait in one of the rooms and listen to the girls in the back complaining about customers. Vet was good, showed me x-rays and explained what could be wrong with my cat. They did associated tests, but took way longer than they said they would. As a cherry on top, when it was time to pay, the assistant just tossed the terminal across the counter at me?? Don't know what her problem was, I just wanted to help my damn cat. :')
