How to Save Money at Manning Veterinary Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I brought my Bengal in to be neutered and have to drive over 2 hours to get to this clinic. I arrived early and they got him in right away! They were super thorough and excellent, and he was micro-chipped as well. I was able to leave much earlier than originally anticipated. My baby was absolutely great and recovery time was minimal. It has been a week and he is perfectly happy and back to his fully active normal self! I was so impressed with the service, the care and with the follow up text checking in to see that all was well! I will be making this my regular clinic even with the longer drive. Good care for my baby is more than worth it!!

My girl has had 2 large cysts removed by Jen and her team. We chose to drive 775km both times for this surgery because you cannot beat the care and love this team shows your fur baby. They explain everything, give you all your options and the prices of treatments are very reasonable. I was aloud to stay with her and be present as much as I wanted which really helped me relax. Should my girl need a 3rd surgery in the future we are happy to make the drive to get the 5⭐️ care for our babies! Everyone working there is an animal lover and it shows! Thank you to you all! You made it easy on me and Kasie.

I’ve taken my boys to Manning Vet Clinic for the past 3 or so years when I lived in High Level. We’ve gone through health concerns, boarding, emergency boarding (when I was working the wildfires). I absolutely love this clinic and am so sad we live in Sask and can no longer go there. The staff is absolutely incredible- they care so much, their compassion and love for all animals shine through. I can’t say enough great things- everyone should either have their pets in for boarding or for their check ups! Bruiser, Blue, Biscuit and Stubbs miss you all!

Amazing clinic! They did a fantastic job taking care of my little puppy I was nervous and worried about her and knew something was wrong. I was taken seriously and all the tests I asked for were ran. My puppy had to have emergency surgery and she was well cared for and I was able to see her right after. All my questions were answered and there was excellent follow up the team cared for my dog like she was part of their family and even though it was a long hard recovery I felt supported and cared for the entire time. I could not recommend them more.

Always fantastic going there. They treat my dog SO well. My dog is comfortable with them. And I thought one trip I would be coming home with no dog due to an illness. 😪😪😪 Jenn was able to get us a medication that gives us many more years with our dog. I can't say enough good about them.❤️❤️❤️
