How to Save Money at Stella Link Animal Clinic

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I recently took my senior dog to this clinic because he was experiencing a fainting issue. The vet assistant and the veterinarian were both very patient and helpful to me and my dog. The waiting time was very minimal (less than 10 minutes), and the veterinarian quickly diagnosed my dog’s issue and prescribed medication for him. I will definitely return here for all of my dog’s future medical needs. The employee’s are kind and patient.

Dr. Parma, Dr. Ron, and Dr. Hoffstetter are all amazing. I had my dog spayed with Dr. Hoffstetter and he was so quick! The techs were all so sweet with my anxious dog. I called and they told me she was out of surgery and recovering! Dr. Parma and Dr. Ron are very honest and straightforward as well. I had to put down my old pup and it was clear the hospitalization wasn't improving his quality of life. It was so painful but I'm grateful for Dr. Parma. She tried with me. The techs were there with my family when we put him down. I'm forever grateful for their compassion. All my pets come here. Thank you doctors and staff! ♥️

I called to ask a few general questions, and unfortunately the lady I spoke with was very rude. She gave very short answers and repeatedly responded with “I don’t know.” She then asked me, “Do you want to speak to the owner?” after I simply asked why my Saturday appointment was being rescheduled when I booked it days ago. Her response was basically, “I don’t know, but we have Monday open.” This was my first interaction with your business, and based on that experience I will not be coming here. There were no warm or welcoming vibes — more of an “idk & idc” attitude. If this is not the kind of impression you want your company to give, I would strongly recommend having better representation when answering the phone.

I had a very disappointing experience with Stella Link Animal Clinic. I scheduled an appointment for 10:30 AM and was told the scans would take about 15–20 minutes. After waiting approximately 45 minutes, I informed staff that I needed to leave for a previously disclosed work commitment and requested a refund since the service had not yet been completed despite payment being taken upfront. I was then told they would complete the scans quickly and email results within 15 minutes. More than two hours later, I still had no results. When I called the clinic to follow up, a technician spoke to me in a raised and unprofessional manner, told me I needed to be patient, and hung up on me mid-sentence. I returned to the clinic to address the situation and request a refund due to the service failure and misinformation. During that interaction, the same staff member escalated the situation further by physically assaulting me before the veterinarian on duty intervened, apologized for the behavior, and offered to repeat the scans at no additional cost because of the inconvenience. Instead of resolving the matter professionally, I later received notice that the clinic was terminating services with me entirely. As a paying client, I expected timely communication, professionalism, and basic customer respect. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I cannot recommend this clinic based on how this situation was handled.
