Don't get a policy if you have a shelter dog
I purchased the pet insurance amidst immediately after adopting my dog. I submitted a claim for allergies which the vet was ruling out either good or environmental cause. After almost 2 months the claim was denied as being preexisting. I had given very notes, contact information for the shelter (who reported the dog had no issue while with them) and the name of the vet who saw the dog prior to being surrendered. Pets best states in their policy that they can deny claims even if there isn't documentation of there being a preexisting condition.

I was with Trupanion for a few years…
I was with Trupanion for a few years and recently I had to cancel due to monthly fee increases. I have been paying $160 a month for about 1 year now, with a diductable of $700 and I got a notification that my monthly fee would be increasing to $215. That is absolutely ridiculous, house insurance is literally $100 a month.. I will not be recommending Trupanion in the future unfortunately.

Trupanion is the most important insurance we have
We were so glad we had Trupanion coverage for our dog when she required CCL surgery on one leg, then a year later for the other leg - and we paid the deductible only once. I'm not sure how we would have managed through those surgeries without Trupanion.

I will always have Trupanion for my pets!
I have one cat who has several medical issues and Trupanion has been there for him unquestionably. They are reliable and their customer service reps are always friendly and knowledgeable. I wouldn't have another pet without Trupanion Insurance!
