Nationwide is the only exotic pet insurance in the US and I am grateful for them. It allows me to offer all available treatment to my pet rabbit Rose for her arthritis and give me peace of mind for my rabbit Koa.

App is easy to use and also available via desktop. Every review of our wellness exam bills has gone smoothly and quickly, with the money in my account in less than a week. The peace of mind I have with Figo has been massive - after having two prior pets pass from cancer (and the bills I have to deal with afterwards) I won't go without it.

Pumpkin Pet Insurance is very well structured and an excellent pet insurance company. They have come through consistently. Their representatives are highly knowledgeable, and qualified to answer my questions.I think Pumpkin Pet Insurance is a terrific company.

Overall good, minus this claim setback
I would say, I really do like have the pet insurance so far they covered pretty much everything. However I will say I was beyond frustrated with a claim I had for my dog and they tried to tell me it was pre existing condition from 2021, when if you read his records his issue in 2023 was 100 percent not related in any way shape or form. They denied covered of the claim, and constantly asked for records when they already had them. I work in vet field. His condition was new and not pre existing I found it really obvious that they did not through his records carefully enough. It felt like a 2 to 3 month battle of going back and forth meanwhile waiting for my dog who is limping and in pain to wait to proceed with medical treatment due to the wait on this claim I made. I felt as is they were trying to get out of his claim by comparing it to something he had in 2015. Then when I argued they said it was not considered pre existing in an email, then stated that it was. Little inconsistent overall I am pleased I just found this particular situation very frustrating.

Even though they had all necessary information they still denied my claim. I had to call them and let them know that they had everything and to please review the claim. They did and I was paid. The fact that I had to call them for this was unnecessary.

Terrible insurance in my experience
I have had Healthy Paws Insurance for my two pets since 2019, claimed the insurance once with no problem. This year, I filed a claim (second time in four years) in the beginning of February, up until today ( March 29), I heard nothing back. I emailed them several times and each time I received generic message of claim processing and expected to finish in 7 days, that’s many many 7 days. I originally bought this insurance because the premium is lower than others and good reviews. Since then, insurance premium has increased and will be increased again next cycle. I finally decided to cancel this insurance, they are good at taking your money but not fulfilling their duty. In this day and age, good reviews online don’t mean a lot.
